CZ75-Auto

CZ75-Auto

“A fully automatic variant of the CZ75, the CZ75-Auto is another inexpensive choice against armored opponents. But with very little ammo provided, strong trigger discipline is required.” ―Official description

The CZ75-Auto is an automatic pistol that has appeared in games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2. Its release date was February 12, 2014, when it was added along with the third Weapon Case. It was in this case that skins for this pistol were first available.

Review

The CZ75 is manufactured by the Czech company Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZUB) and was first introduced in 1975. This pistol was one of the first in the "miracle nine" line with its innovative rotating magazine, all-metal construction and forged barrel. It has won recognition among shooters for its high quality and versatility at an affordable price. The version used in Global Offensive is the CZ 75 Automatic, a modification of the CZ 75B with selector fire, available only to law enforcement and military forces. This option is equipped with a recoil compensator and provides the ability to attach an additional magazine to the trigger guard as a front handle.

In Global Offensive, the CZ75-Automatic is offered as an alternative to the Five-SeveN pistols for counter-terrorists and the Tec-9 for terrorists, allowing players to select it from the inventory outside of active competitive play.

It has a 12-round magazine with one spare magazine and has a relatively low price of $500. Unlike other pistols, the CZ75-Automatic has a reduced kill reward of $100 in Competitive mode and $50 in Normal mode. This is the only pistol in the game with a fully automatic fire mode, notable for its high damage at close ranges and penetration of armor.

However, its power is balanced by the significant difficulty of control due to the strong recoil, amplified by the automatic firing mode. Poor first shot accuracy and moderate ranged damage reduction limit its effectiveness at medium to long ranges.

The CZ75-Automatic takes slightly longer to reload than other pistols, and the weapon's unique draw animation, which involves attaching the magazine to the front before cocking the bolt, makes it less convenient as a secondary weapon due to the lengthy preparation time it takes to fire.

Tactics

The CZ75-Auto is ideal for quickly eliminating single enemies at close to medium ranges thanks to its ability to instantly fire a series of bullets. However, you should avoid using this weapon at long ranges due to its high recoil, increased spread and decreased damage with distance, which significantly reduces its effectiveness.

A distinctive feature of the CZ75-Auto's recoil is that it does not so much lift the weapon up as it moves it to the sides, creating a trajectory of movement first to the left, then to the right and again to the left, with a slight increase upward, which makes it almost impossible to adequately control fire at a distance beyond 3 meters.

Firing the CZ75-Auto in machine gun mode is not recommended, as the magazine will become empty very quickly. This pistol is also not the best choice for engagements with multiple opponents due to its limited magazine.

Despite these shortcomings, the CZ75-Auto is great for economy rounds. Its high rate of fire, acceptable damage and good penetration make it easy to destroy at least one enemy, after which you can pick up the weapon of the fallen one.

When a player only has the CZ75 in their arsenal, the disadvantages associated with switching weapons become less noticeable since it remains the main choice for most of the time.

This pistol is especially appreciated by defending teams, such as counter-terrorists on bomb maps or terrorists on hostage maps, due to its limited ammo capacity and high rate of fire, making it easier to defend positions.

In game modes where ammo is limited, it is important to use ammo sparingly by only having one extra magazine available. In Deathmatch mode, where ammo is unlimited, this disadvantage is absent.

As a complement to sniper rifles, the CZ75-Auto is an affordable choice that allows you to quickly deal with close-in threats. When used as a secondary weapon, the CZ75-Auto does not require frequent use, especially if the enemy is not planning massive attacks on the player's position.

Long weapon change times must be taken into account, so it is important to prepare for an encounter with the enemy in advance. To maintain combat readiness of the CZ75-Auto, it is important to reload in a safe environment, given the long reload and preparation time for firing, which can be critical to survival.

Interesting Facts

The Counter-Strike game files (items_game) list the CZ75-Auto's ammo caliber as .357, when in fact it uses 9x19mm. Since its introduction, the CZ75-Auto has been offered as an alternative to the P250 pistol. This pistol was the first in the Counter-Strike series to offer players a fully automatic fire mode, and it was also the only firearm in the series to be manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Before the CZ75-Auto's firing sound was updated in CS:GO, it sounded similar to the firing sound of the Galil AR. The CZ75-Auto is one of only two 9mm Parabellum weapons capable of killing a fully equipped player with a single headshot, the other being the Tec-9.

In reality, the magazine capacity of the 9mm version of the CZ75 is 16 rounds, but in the game, before the update on December 10, 2014, this capacity was reduced to 12 rounds, which corresponds to the capacity of the .40 S&W version. After the update, the magazine capacity was further reduced to 8 rounds, but this change was later reversed, and the capacity was again 12 rounds.

The CZ75-Auto has two reload animations: the standard one, during which the character removes the front magazine and loads it into the weapon, and the alternate one, used when the front magazine is already engaged, which is slower but identical to the reloading of pistols such as the P250, P2000, Glock- 18 and Five-SeveN, while the reload time remains unchanged. The front magazine is automatically restored when the weapon is removed and re-drawn if the player has ammo remaining.

When reloading with the front magazine attached, the animation shows the bolt being pulled back an unnaturally large distance compared to a real CZ75. In other cases, when the bolt is pulled back, for example when drawing a weapon or reloading without using the front magazine, the animation behaves normally.

Prior to a certain update, the CZ75-Auto shared its draw animation with the P250, P2000, Glock-18 and Five-SeveN. The introduction of the CZ75-Auto reduced the P250's popularity among pistol round players, as the novelty offered an interesting alternative to the standard choice.
