Deathmatch

Deathmatch

Counter-Strike 2 continues the traditions of its predecessor, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, by offering players an exciting and dynamic game mode known as Deathmatch. This mode, first introduced into the game in January 2013, was inspired by the extremely popular mod of the same name and offers a unique and intense gameplay experience.

The main principle of Deathmatch is to finish the match with the highest number of points. Points are awarded for kills with different weapons, with each weapon bringing a different amount of points. Players are given the opportunity to use bonus timers to increase their score, adding strategic depth and variety to the gameplay.

Mode Features

In Deathmatch, players have an infinite number of respawns and full armor, returning to the game a few seconds after death. Upon respawning, players are temporarily invulnerable, allowing them to safely select weapons from a modified purchase menu. Weapons and ammunition are available without restrictions, except for special equipment such as grenades and the bomb defusal kit.

In CS2, the Deathmatch mode is a team deathmatch that can be played on any map without primary objectives, such as planting/defusing the bomb or rescuing hostages. Instead, the main goal of the players is to eliminate opponents from the enemy team. After 10 minutes, the round ends, and the player with the most points is declared the winner.

A maximum of 18 people can play on one server (9 players for CT and 9 players for T).

Bonus Weapons

Throughout the match, players have a chance to receive bonus weapons, which bring additional points when killing. This feature introduces an element of surprise and strategy, encouraging players to use a diverse arsenal of weapons.

Variations of the Deathmatch Mode

Counter-Strike 2 introduces innovations to the Deathmatch mode, offering players several gameplay options:

  • FFA Deathmatch (Free for All): In this mode, every player acts independently, and the goal is to accumulate the most kills within 10 minutes of gameplay.
  • Team Deathmatch: Here, teams fight for a set of Victory Points (VP), and the team that scores 100 VP or has the most VP at the end of the game wins.
  • Classic Deathmatch: This traditional mode has players fighting in a team format, aiming to score the highest number of kills.
  • Pistol Deathmatch: In this mode, players can only play with pistols.
  • Only HS Mode: If the "Only HS Mode" is enabled on the server, it means that damage to the opponent and to you will only occur when you hit the head.
