Baggage
Baggage (ar_baggage) is an Arms Race map featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2.
History of the map's creation
The first mention of the Baggage card was more than 12 years ago, namely on February 6, 2013. Then Valve simply added this map to the game without any additional content.
The following studios worked on the map:
- Hidden Path Entertainment
- Valve Corporation
Initially, before adding skins to the character models on the map, the terrorists were: Phoenix Connexion, but the counter-terrorists were played by: GSG-9.
Review
The conflict takes place in the baggage claim area of a fictional airport somewhere in Germany, where the terrorist faction Phoenix Connexion and the counter-terrorist faction GSG-9 are engaged in battle.
"Baggage" is a symmetrical map with the teams' spawn points located directly opposite each other. Both teams begin at the same level, separated by a wall that obstructs direct line of sight at the spawn.
Players have various options from the spawn point: they can proceed forward around the wall into the main open conveyor belt area, take the right path up a side conveyor belt to the topmost area, or take the ramp on the left side down to the basement level directly below the open conveyor area.
The spawn zones for both teams are color-coded: the terrorist starting position is marked in yellow, while the counter-terrorist starting position is marked in blue.
Official description
Baggage - Game of elimination. Progress through weapons with each kill. The first player to score 22 points wins.
Passover cards Baggage v Counter-Strike
Unlike other maps, Baggage Valve added a lot of unique Easter eggs that we really want to tell you about. Next, the list will go as a top, the very first will be obvious facts that you can all find just by playing it once, but then it will become more and more interesting.
- There are a lot of boxes on the map that are designed to transport animals, namely chickens. However, most of them escaped and are now walking around the airport happy.
- There are several active conveyors on the map that are capable of moving cargo placed on them. However, many do not know that these conveyors can be turned off from this room or their movement can be changed.
- Conveyors can interact with all items, such as players, weapons and all sorts of other map details, but cannot transport chickens.
- On the launch keys from the previous room there is a toy in the form of an SAS fighter. At the same time, it will dangle if you shoot at it.
- There are 6 soccer balls on the map.
- On one of the planes outside the airport there is a link: “Fly-hi.vc”. But if you click on it, you will be taken to the official Counter-Strike 2 website.
- There is a metal detector in the center of the map. But there is one point: there are two lights on the metal detector itself. When there is no player inside, it lights up green, and when there is a player, it lights up red. Moreover, even if you throw away all the weapons and go into the detector, the light will still be red.
- There are a lot of empty rooms on the map where players without noclip are not allowed to enter. Perhaps the developers initially wanted to leave them open, but something went wrong.
- In one of the open boxes outside the play area, there is a dragon artifact that looks similar to the dragon from Shoots.
- The use of pipelines in CS2 is the first such case since 1998. It was in the first Half-Life that pipelines were used that were never seen in any other Valve game. (Do not confuse with conveyors from Portal 2, they have a different mechanism)
- There are two keyboards on the map with the following symbols highlighted: CS2.
- The map contains 25 stickers with cities from the real world. For example, Kharkov or Detroit. But, in fact, it’s just the developers who wanted to immortalize their cities in the game.
