MP9 is more than just a submachine gun; it's a true symbol in the world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2, exclusively available to Counter-Terrorists. It represents an evolution of the Schmidt Machine Pistol from previous iterations of the game, retaining its characteristics and role, with the MAC-10 serving as its Terrorist counterpart.
Overview
The MP9 is an elegant 9mm submachine gun developed by the Swiss company Brügger & Thomet AG based on the Steyr TMP model. Changes such as new Picatinny rails for attachments, a folding stock, and an updated safety trigger make it even more powerful.
In the game, the MP9 is an affordable submachine gun available to the CT side. It boasts high rate of fire, quick movement speed, and swift reloads. Remarkable accuracy while moving and jumping makes it ideal for a "spray 'n' pray" tactic. Despite this, its damage is the lowest among all submachine guns.
However, the MP9 suffers from high recoil, low damage, and penetration power, making it preferable for anti-eco rounds but not for regular use.
Like many other submachine guns in CS:GO, the MP9 rewards double the money for a kill ($600 in Competitive Mode, $300 in Casual Mode).
