New CS2 Patch: Map and Weapon Model Adjustments
New CS2 Patch: Map and Weapon Model Adjustments

Valve continues to refine their game CS2, delighting the community with new fixes and improvements. This time, changes have affected maps, weapon models, and some technical bugs have been fixed.

Fans of the game know how important even the smallest adjustments are. They can significantly influence the balance and feel of the game, especially in competitive matches.

Main changes in the current update

  • Improved clipping on the stairs under the balcony on the Inferno map, which will eliminate player passage issues.
  • Fixed the SSG08 model, addressing positioning discrepancies.
  • Updated the sticker mask on the magazine of the Dual Elites model used in "Legacy" mode.
  • Adjusted the holster positioning of the Dual Elites pistols on the leg model in the first-person mode.
  • Fixed bugs with the interaction of grenades and character models after death (ragdolls).
  • Resolved an issue where the combination of +attack2 and +lookatweapon commands could cause silenced weapons to be in an incorrect state.

However, after this update, new bugs have appeared. The first is that it is now impossible to jump onto the wall under the balcony on Inferno for a jump to the Balcony. The second bug is that after a kill, ragdolls started behaving strangely and are flung very far. Also, it is not possible to inspect weapons immediately after switching between them; there is a delay of a couple of seconds between pressing the inspect button and the animation being triggered.

What happened before: previous update

In the previous patch, Valve had already made corrections. In particular, the update affected the Inferno map, where they improved scaffolding clipping at point B. They also resolved issues with team selection on servers where there was no time limit for automatic selection and fixed bugs related to rare inspection animations for the AK-47 and Desert Eagle. The full list of changes can be found in the previous news.

These changes not only fix minor bugs that might have annoyed players but also make the game more predictable and convenient for everyone. Corrections in the clipping on the Inferno map improve movement, which is important for professional matches. And fixes in weapon animations and models show the developers' pursuit of perfection.
