Raid bosses in WoW are some of the most difficult creatures that players have to face in order to complete raid content and receive various rewards and achievements. Raszageth, the Storm-Eater is the final boss of the Vault of the Incarnates raid dungeon in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Fighting this dragon becomes much more difficult at higher difficulty levels, especially in Awakened Mythic mode. In this Raszageth the Storm Eater guide, you will learn about all the stages and phases of the fight against Raszageth, as well as methods of confronting this boss.
The best build for this raid is 2 tanks, 4 healers, and 14 DPS heroes. The best classes and abilities that will come in handy are Druid — Roar; Shaman — Speed Totem; Evoker — Rescue, Time Spiral, Time Dilation; Warlock — Gateway. Auxiliary abilities will be any crowd control abilities; abilities that grant immunity; Priest — Lifegrip; Shaman — Ancestral Guidance.
The battle in the first phase will take place on the main platform until Raszageth, the Storm-Eater's health drops to 65%. The task of the tanks is to keep the boss as close to the centre of the arena as possible while keeping his attention in the opposite direction from the rest of your raid. This should be done so that players have more space to deal with Static Charge and Hurricane Wing.
The first ability hits multiple heroes in your group and casts a debuff that leaves a Static Field area after the ability ends, which will deal damage and slow the player down when they come into contact with it. To avoid harming other players and taking less damage yourself, you should stay as far away from the rest of the group as possible.
Hurricane Wing is a special ability of the first phase. When the energy level reaches one hundred, it will be triggered. It deals a lot of damage and will throw all players off the platform backwards, right into the cliff, for three seconds. You should be careful and make sure that you are not thrown directly to the Static Field, but at the same time soften the throw.
Tanks must have very strong defence and absorption abilities to survive the enemy's Electrified Jaws ability, which deals a lot of physical, natural, and periodic damage. After each hit, another tank must replace the previous one so that it can heal and the successor can take the next hit from Electrified Jaws. Healers should respond as quickly as possible and keep the allied tanks alive, which are the backbone of this battle.
The boss will target several players with his Volatile Current ability, which will damage all those who are targeted, as well as players within an eight-yard radius. Therefore, at the time of this hostile ability, everyone will have to scatter and stay as far away from each other as possible. Each player targeted by the attack will spawn a Volatile Spark with Volatile buff and start casting Burst, which deals damage every second for 30 seconds. This ability can be interrupted or removed with a Dispel.
Raszageth strategy: During the first intermission, the raid will have to split up to deal with the three Surging Ruiners and the Oathsworn Vanguard and Stormseeker Acolytes they summon. When the boss reaches 65% health, you should move to the edges of the platform marked with a blue and red gem to be thrown to another platform.
All Surging Ruiners start the phase with a Surge shield effect that deals damage to players every three seconds. After you destroy this shield, Surging Ruiners will cast Overload, which will deal 100% more damage until the mob dies. It will also summon Primalist Forces: Oathsworn Vanguards and Stormseeker Acolytes. The Vanguards will constantly pursue their target, striking without missing a beat. Acolytes will cast Storm Bolt at random players. Heroes can interrupt the casting of this ability, including by using crowd control.
Surging Ruiners will appear on the field in the form of a triangle. One next to the teleporter, one a little further away, and the last one on the far side of the platform. This phase must be completed within one hundred seconds, otherwise the boss will automatically land on the third platform. After killing all the Surging Ruiners, the phase will end.
In the second phase of Raszageth boss fight, the Storm-Eater will have new abilities. The Hurricane Wing from the previous battle will be replaced by the Tempest Wing. This ability is less powerful and releases a wave that crosses the platform instead of continuously throwing players back. The Volatile Current ability that was present in the previous phase is still there, so be careful.
Raszageth targets several players with a debuff from Fulminating Charge. Heroes take damage and are slowed down by 75% for a few seconds, and at the end of its effect, this debuff jumps to another player or disappears if no one is nearby. Therefore, a player with this effect should stay away from others so as not to endanger anyone. But since his movement speed will be much slower, it is better if others stay as far away from the marked character as possible. As a last resort, you can cast Hand of Freedom, which provides immunity to movement speed debuffs.
The main ability of the boss will be Stormsurge, which is activated when you reach 100 energy. It imposes an extremely large shield on Raszageth, which must be destroyed in 25 seconds, otherwise it will explode and cause lethal damage to all raid participants.
During the duration of this ability, all players will receive a Stormcharged buff, which will divide the players by effect status. Some will receive a positive effect, standing next to each other, and players with the same charge will receive Focused Charge status, which increases damage and healing by 200%. Players with the opposite effect will have the Scattered Charge effect, which deals damage every second to all players within a five-yard radius. The Stormsurge ability will be activated three times. Therefore, players will need to immediately split into two opposing groups to avoid interfering with each other. This phase will end when the boss's health drops to 25% or when the vault is empty to 0%.
This time you will have to defeat the Colossal Stormfiends on the same platform as last time. These mobs will deal damage to the entire group every two seconds using the Crackling Energy ability. From time to time, they will teleport with Storm Break, dealing additional Crackling Energy stack, and in addition summoning several Seeking Stormlings.
Once they appear, they will move toward their caster. If they successfully reach their caster, they will cast Fuse, which heals 5% of their total health and increases damage by 25%, these effects stack. Seeking Stormlings can be eliminated with Crowd Control, but if they reach 100 energy, they will be immune to it. Therefore, it is worth destroying them as soon as they appear. Once all the mobs are dead, the boss will throw you back to the main platform.
In the final Raszageth raid encounter, you'll also have to act quickly to finish off the boss before he unleashes Raging Storm. When this ability starts, it will begin to consume the platform, starting at the edges and moving towards the centre until it covers the entire platform. Staying within the area of effect of the ability will cause all players to take Storm's Spite damage every second.
During the third phase, Raszageth's arsenal will include the skill from the second phase — Tempest Wing and Fulminating Charge. The tactics against them remain the same. The new ability will be Thunderous Blast, which will mainly target the tank of your group. It deals damage every 0.3 seconds for two seconds and also uses Thunderous Energy. In addition, this ability will apply Thunderstruck Armor, which increases incoming physical damage by 100%, as well as damage from Thunderous Blast. Rotation of tanks with good defensive abilities, as well as constant support from healers, will be essential here.
On harder Raszageth mythic difficulty in the first phase, Static Field can be used to mitigate against Hurricane Wing, as Static Field deals increased damage when players stand in it.
In the first intermission, Surging Ruiners will target one of the players with a Surging Blast debuff that explodes after six seconds and deals damage to everyone within a seven-yard radius. So now healers will have a little more work to do.
In the second phase, players with opposite effects from Stormsurge will cause an explosion that will damage all players in the vicinity.
During the second intermission, Colossal Stormfiends buff each other and cast Crackling Energy faster when one of them dies. So now you will have to kill Colossal Stormfiends at the same time, not one by one, to prevent one of them from being stronger due to the buff.
In the third phase, a new ability Magnetic Charge appears, which is similar in functionality to Static Charge from the first phase. However, it will target only one or more players and then move the entire team to him. To prevent harm to others, the player will have to run as far away from the raid as possible.
