Monster Hunter Wilds brings to the table a vast and varied roster of monsters, each of which presents their challenge and reward. The game includes, upon its release, 47 monsters in total—29 of them big and 18 of them small. It is worth noting, though, that of the big monsters, only 26 of them have Crowns, which denote important differences in their species' average size. These Crowns can be Gold or Silver, and Gold Crowns indicate the most dramatic differences in size.

The Guardian Seikret is a cryptic and elusive species that is known to protect particular territories. It is gifted with superior defense, and hunters find it difficult to defeat them in the absence of proper strategy.
