Monster Hunter Wilds brings back many of the elements that fans have loved about this game series: dangerous monsters, incredible weapons, cool armor, and captivating locations to explore. But, in addition to all this, there is one special little creature that many players hoped to see again.
Poogie, the charming piglet that has become an integral part of most Monster Hunter games, has returned in Monster Hunter Wilds. If you want to know where to find Poogie and what you can do with it, we'll tell you about it.

Who is Poogie in Monster Hunter?
Poogie is a small but beloved piglet that has appeared in most Monster Hunter games, often wandering around central locations. Over the years, it has played various roles — sometimes just a decorative element, sometimes participating in mini-games, and in Monster Hunter Frontier, it even appeared during hunts.

Many players believe that petting Poogie before a hunt increases the chances of getting rare materials, although there is no official confirmation of this. But even if it doesn't affect luck, who would refuse the chance to show a little love to this cute piglet?
In Monster Hunter Rise, Poogie was absent, appearing only as a decorative item in the player's room. But in Monster Hunter Wilds, it has returned and looks as charming as ever.

Where to find Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds
Poogie is not available at the beginning of the game. You will only be able to meet it later when you reach the village of Suja. This happens after defeating Jin Dahaad in the main storyline quest Nothing Frozen, Nothing Gained in Chapter 3-2.
Upon arriving in the town of Suja, Poogie will begin to roam freely around the village, usually with a small green frog on its head. Its location changes depending on the time of day.
- In the morning and afternoon, Poogie is usually found near Vio, the Melder, in the southern part of the camp.
- At night, it moves to the northern edge of Suja and rests near Tetsuzan's tent.
If you have trouble finding it, look for its pig-shaped icon on the minimap.

What can you do with Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Once you find Poogie, you will have two main options for interacting with it:
- Pet
- Rename
You can give Poogie any name, as long as it does not exceed 15 characters and does not contain prohibited words.

Attempting to pet Poogie will start a mini-game, for the successful completion of which you can receive a random item. To pet it correctly, you need to interact with Poogie, wait for a pink exclamation mark to appear above its head, and press the button at the right moment. If you do it correctly, Poogie will happily jump, hearts will appear, and you will receive a reward.

If you press the button at the wrong time, Poogie will get angry, knock you off your feet, and run away. It won't return immediately, but if you quickly travel to another area and return to Suja, you can try again.

What does Poogie do?
Each time you pet Poogie correctly, it will reward you with a random item. These can be common materials like herbs or rare and valuable items. However, you can only obtain an item once per in-game day. If you want more rewards, you'll need to periodically return to Poogie.

Can you customize Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Unlike Monster Hunter World, where you could change Poogie's outfit and even carry it around, in Monster Hunter Wilds, customization of the piglet is limited. Players can only change its name, but changing the outfit or picking it up is not currently possible. Some fans hope that these features will return in future updates or expansions.
