TenZ expressed his opinion on the map design in Valorant: "The tactics after planting the spike become too predictable and boring"

Last week, TenZ, a streamer and former professional Valorant player, shared his suggestions for improving the map design in the game on his X (formerly Twitter) page. He noted that the current tactics after planting the spike have become too predictable and boring.

According to TenZ, players often retreat from the site after planting the spike and use blinding abilities or smokes to hide the defusal process from the enemy. However, he emphasized that this distracts from defending the actual spike site. In his post, he commented:

I would like to see more maps where the spike sites are clearly marked. All the maps now just allow you to plant the spike, fall back, spray, or use abilities to protect it, which is getting boring.

TenZ opinion received support from professional players like Boaster and C0M. Joey Simas, who is responsible for map design at Riot Games, also responded to his comments, stating:

I agree as well. I don't mind occasionally disrupting the process from the main zone after planting, but I don't like that this pattern is too pronounced on the current maps. We are working on improvements.

Users are discussing the need to increase the number of maps where fights can occur inside the site, such as Lotus and Sunset. In the upcoming patch update 9.08, Lotus and Icebox will be removed, while Perl and Split will return.
