The World Tree — The Truth Behind Palpagos
The long-standing conflict between the factions of Palpagos has always revolved around control of the towers. Now, the mystery behind their battles is finally beginning to unfold.
At the center of Palworld’s story stands the enormous World Tree, rising above the islands. Reaching this legendary location will lead players into their most difficult and significant challenge yet.

A Renewed World to Explore

Newly Added Islands
Seven additional islands have appeared across the world, each featuring one of three unique environments:
- Volcanic landscapes
- Desert regions
- Ancient ruins
Every island offers its own purpose, resources, and exclusive Pals that cannot be found elsewhere.
New Settlements & Ocean Bases
New settlements have been established in:

Improved Pal Distribution
Pal habitats across the world have been redesigned. Spawn locations and levels have been adjusted to better match each region, creating more natural ecosystems and making exploration more rewarding.
Note: Random Pal Spawn Mode will no longer carry over placement data from version 0.7.3 or earlier in order to properly apply these changes.
Increased Level Cap & New Technology
The maximum player level has been increased from 65 to 80.
Alongside this increase, many new technologies connected to the ancient civilization have been introduced, providing new ways to progress and expand your capabilities.
Additional World Updates & Quality Improvements
- Lifmunk Effigies have been replaced by the new Pal Effigy system. Players can now collect different Pal Effigies to improve their own stats. Existing Lifmunk Effigies remain unchanged and are transferred automatically.
- Added new visual effects and animations when collecting Pal Effigies. Mounted players will skip this animation.
- Rebalanced treasure chest rewards, dungeon loot, and general item drop rates.
- Improved dungeon layouts, lighting, and reward distribution.
- Completed towers now display a different visual color.

- Renamed several locations: "Forgotten Island," "Island of Chilling Winds," and "Windswept Hills, Plateau of Beginnings."
- Removed the Great Eagle Statue from tower boss locations to improve visibility when viewing the map.
- Updated Sealed Realm appearances. Their designs now change depending on boss difficulty, with two additional variations added.
- Added exploration experience rewards for clearing certain dungeons and enemy bases.

The journey across Palpagos now follows a clearer progression, linking exploration, encounters with tower bosses, and the path toward the mysterious World Tree into a more natural narrative flow.
With new discoveries such as Sunreach, the World Tree, and the appearance of a legendary giant Pal, the scattered mysteries of the islands have been brought together into a unified adventure.
Players can now uncover the secrets of Palpagos while following a more focused path, allowing the world’s hidden history and major events to unfold more naturally.
Expanded Side Content: Missions, Characters & Records
New story-focused sub-missions have been introduced, creating longer questlines that continue throughout the world.
Additional NPCs and Journals have also been placed across Palpagos, giving explorers more opportunities to uncover hidden stories, learn about the island’s past, and understand the events shaping the world of Palworld.

Mission System Improvements
- Missions that require multiple objectives can now display several destination markers at the same time, making navigation easier.
- The mission reward interface now correctly shows the rewards that will be received.
- Main mission and sub-mission progress has been reset to ensure balance after reward adjustments.
Note: Tutorial missions and Tower Boss-related main missions may automatically be completed depending on the Tower Bosses you have already defeated.

Pals — New Additions, Evolution Systems & Major Improvements

he Pal roster has been expanded with 72 new additions, including:

A powerful new growth system has been introduced with Awakening, allowing players to push their favorite Pals beyond their previous limits.
Deep within the newly accessible World Tree lies a mysterious resource known as Radiant Gems. Collect these rare gems from the depths of this legendary location and use them to unlock the hidden potential within your Pals.

New Feature: Mutation — Raise Stronger Pals Through Breeding
Breeding has received a major expansion with the introduction of Mutation, a rare phenomenon where offspring can surpass normal breeding results.
When a mutation occurs:

The riding system has received a comprehensive upgrade, improving movement, combat, and overall responsiveness while mounted.
Ranged combat, dashing, weapon switching, and charge actions have all been refined, along with adjustments to the riding camera. These changes create a stronger sense of speed and make mounted controls feel more natural and intuitive.
Mounted movement has also been improved by refining how Pals handle turns and directional changes. Animations and movement behavior now feel smoother, creating a more immersive riding experience.
Additional riding improvements include:
- Mounted Pal skills can now be interrupted by using a jump input combined with directional movement, allowing players to reposition or dodge more effectively during combat.
- Improved mounting and dismounting animations for both players and Pals.
- Smoother transitions between dashing and charge attacks while riding.
- Some Pals now adjust their posture based on terrain, resulting in more natural movement animations.
- Added a dedicated animation for mounted dashing.
- Updated player firearm aiming animations while riding.
- Increased the interaction range for collecting items and using facilities while mounted, making it easier to interact with the world while riding larger Pals.
Work Suitability System Overhaul
The Work Suitability system has been expanded with a new maximum of 10 levels, and the Work Suitability values of all Pals have been rebalanced.
This creates more meaningful progression throughout the entire game. Whether starting a new base or optimizing an endgame operation, players will continue to have reasons to search for stronger and more specialized worker Pals.
Work Suitability progression has also been improved:
- Each time a Pal increases in rank, one of its Work Suitability levels will now increase.
- Reaching the maximum rank still raises all Work Suitability levels.
These changes make investing in favorite Pals more rewarding and add greater strategic depth when choosing Pals for base management.
Applied Technique items have also been made easier to obtain, and a new item has been added:
Applied Ranching Handbook IIncreases Ranch Work Suitability level.

Capture Bonus Adjustments
The number of captures required to complete a Capture Bonus has been reduced from 12 captures to 5 captures.
This allows players to progress through the bonus system more quickly, explore new areas sooner, and discover additional Pals at a smoother pace.
Condensation Improvements
The requirements for reaching maximum Pal rank have been significantly reduced.
The total number of Pals needed has been lowered from 116 to 48, making condensation less time-consuming and allowing more Pals to reach their full potential in both combat and base roles.
Additional Pal & Gameplay Improvements
A variety of smaller adjustments have been introduced to improve quality of life and overall balance.

Pal Behavior & Breeding
- When the player remains idle for an extended period, party Pals will now stop moving and turn toward the player, creating a stronger sense of companionship.
- Breeding active skill inheritance has been adjusted. Inherited active skills are now randomly selected from the three active skill slots equipped by the parent Pals.
- The cost of resetting Pal Soul enhancements has been greatly reduced.
Difficulty & Progression
- Egg incubation time has been reduced by half in newly created Normal and Hard difficulty worlds.
- Players can now choose Fast Travel points other than their base or original starting location after respawning.
Combat & Passive Skill Updates
- Increased the elemental damage bonuses provided by: Divine Heaven, Flame Emperor, Sea Emperor, Thunder Emperor, Spirit King, Ice Emperor, Earth Emperor, King of the Underworld, Divine Dragon.
- Improved the effectiveness of the following passive skills: Legend, Rare, Burly Body, Diamond Body.
- Renamed the Nocturnal passive skill to Insomnia.
- Increased Jetragon’s maximum stamina.
- Changed Lovander’s elemental type to Dark.
Survival & Base Adjustments
- Base Pals and party Pals no longer lose SAN when receiving damage.
- Reduced penalties caused by hunger, fractures, and other negative status conditions.
Economy & Interface Improvements
- Added support for assigning Alt key inputs in the key configuration menu.
- Updated Pal Merchant and Black Marketeer inventories to better match the regions where they appear.
- Adjusted overall prices based on Pal statistics.

Combat Overhaul, New Skills & Battle Improvements
Major Player Combat and Movement Improvements
Player controls and animations have been extensively redesigned to create a faster, smoother, and more responsive combat experience.
Core actions such as movement, attacking, aiming, and weapon handling have been improved, giving players better control during both exploration and battle.
Updated Dodge System
The dodge action has been changed depending on the player's current action:
- When attacking or aiming, dodging now becomes a quick dash, allowing players to close gaps, reposition, and avoid incoming attacks while maintaining offensive pressure.
- When not attacking or aiming, the traditional rolling dodge remains available.
Additional movement improvements include:
- Players can now attack immediately after dashing, allowing combat to flow more naturally while maintaining momentum.
- Reloading is no longer interrupted when performing dodge actions, making it safer to reposition while preparing the next attack.
- Directional control during rolls has been improved, allowing players to adjust movement more precisely after dodging.
Pal Active Skill Rebalance
Nearly all Pal Active Skills have been reviewed and adjusted, including changes to:
- Damage values
- Cooldowns
- Skill behavior

These changes aim to make a wider variety of abilities useful, allowing more Pals and skill combinations to remain competitive.
Holy Burst & High-Tier Skill Adjustments
Holy Burst previously dealt excessive damage against large targets, so its maximum number of hits has been limited. Its power has been adjusted to 700, keeping its practical damage output close to its previous performance.
At the same time, powerful Active Skills from other elements have received major damage increases to create a more balanced power structure.
As part of the overall damage rebalance, party Pals can now deal damage that matches or even exceeds the player's own damage output.
Several difficult-to-use skills, including Dragon Meteor, have also been improved to make them more practical in combat.
New Pal Active Skills
A large number of new Active Skills have been added, introducing fresh combat options for both newly released and existing Pals.

Tower Boss Battles Redesigned
Tower Boss encounters have been completely refreshed. Each Tower now features:
- A unique visual design
- Updated environments
- New boss animations and abilities for selected encounters
These changes make Tower Boss fights feel more distinct and require different strategies compared to previous battles. To improve overall pacing:
- The time limit has been reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.

Note: The requirement for unlocking Hard Mode Tower Bosses has been changed. Players must now defeat the boss in the Azure Covenant Tower.
New Pal Command: Focus Fire
Players can now directly command their Pal to attack a specific target.
By aiming at an enemy and using the mouse wheel click or right-stick click, players can issue the command:
“Attack that enemy!”
This provides greater control during battles and makes coordinated attacks easier.
Improved Wild Pal Combat
Wild Pals have received new combat behaviors, making encounters more dynamic and challenging.

New Weapons & Expanded Weapon Capacity
A total of 13 new weapons have been added, expanding combat options across all stages of progression.
Additionally, players can now equip up to 6 weapons by crafting an Extra Weapon Holster, providing more flexibility during battles. These new tools and weapons are designed to help players overcome new regions, challenging encounters, and high-difficulty content.

These retain normal Monitoring Stand functions while also reducing SAN depletion.

Raids & Base Defense Improvements
A Completely Redesigned Raid Experience
The raid system has been rebuilt from the ground up, turning base attacks into structured wave-based battles.
Instead of facing a single assault, enemies will now arrive in multiple waves. Successfully defeating every wave rewards players for defending their base, making preparation, strategy, and base layout more important than ever.
Base defense is no longer just about surviving an occasional attack. The placement of defensive structures, the roles of assigned Work Pals, and overall base planning now have a much greater impact on the outcome of each raid.
Raid encounters have also become more diverse, with enemy factions changing depending on the region where your base is located.

- The Free Pal Alliance attacking bases near Crescent Moon Shore.
- The Eternal Pyre Faction launching raids around Mount Obsidian.

- Defensive structures now function without requiring ammunition.

The Negotiator — An Alternative to Battle
A new visitor, known as The Negotiator, can now appear at your base. Rather than fighting every incoming raid, players can pay gold coins to prevent an upcoming attack from happening.
This provides a new strategic choice: defend your base through combat, or use resources to avoid conflict when the situation calls for it.

A built-in voice communication system has been added for dedicated servers.

Smoother Progression Through Experience Changes
The experience system has been redesigned to make training and progression more flexible.
Experience requirements and Pal EXP gain rates have been adjusted so that lower-level Pals can catch up more quickly. This makes it easier to continue raising newly captured Pals later in the game without a large training gap.
Existing save data will also have accumulated experience automatically recalculated to match the new system, while player levels will remain unchanged.
Improved Pal Capture Rates
The capture calculation system has been revised, increasing the overall success rate when attempting to catch Pals.
Updated Gold Economy
The value of treasure chest rewards has been increased significantly, with gold payouts now being roughly 2–4 times higher.
