FromSoftware has released a fresh update for Elden Ring: Nightreign, bringing balance tweaks, major bug fixes, and a few under-the-hood improvements to ensure your descent into shadow remains challenging, fair, and immersive. The update, officially titled Patch 1.01.3 (Regulation Ver. 1.01.4), is now available on all platforms: PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Whether you’re wading through the madness-choked ruins of Limveld or challenging the ominous Nightlords in the veiled depths of the Night’s Tide, this patch fine-tunes several key mechanics to enhance your overall gameplay experience.
Players seeking to walk the path of chaos will be pleased to know that the chance of obtaining weapons that inflict the Madness status ailment has been significantly increased. This change enhances the viability of Madness-focused builds in both PvE and PvP scenarios. FromSoftware notes that this adjustment aims to bring Madness-based playstyles closer in line with Bleed and Frostbite builds, offering more build diversity in the evolving Nightreign meta.
A slew of bugs, both haunting and helpful, have been purged in this patch. Key highlights include:
Visual clarity has been restored to the Whirlwind skill when the [Guardian] Increased duration for Character Skill relic effect is active. No more ghostly gusts—now you’ll see the true fury of your spins.
Fixed a rare but game-breaking bug where the Demon Merchant could spawn incorrectly near the Night’s Tide, especially when the Demon Merchant Curse Event was triggered.
The damage dealt to weak points created by Ironeye’s “Marking” skill has been standardized. It will now scale properly with weapon level and character stats.
Players under the Passive Effect "Power of the Great Ancient Dragon" (granted by Bolt of Gransax) were previously immune to enemy lightning damage. This unintended god-mode has been corrected.
Corrected an issue where attacking certain enemy types would overfill the Ultimate Art gauge, allowing unbalanced frequency of ultimate attacks.
The relic effect "Switching Weapons Adds an Affinity Attack" now correctly applies elemental attributes when used with Bows and Crossbows.
The rune cost for purchasing Uncommon-tier weapons from merchants was improperly scaled. Merchants now demand the correct price—no more cheap tricks or unjust rune drains.
Fixed a critical bug where players who were revived from near-death could still lose the battle against Nightlords or other Night bosses, even after successful revivals.
Addressed a multiplayer bug during Nightlord fights where the camera angle would fail to track correctly if the player was not targeting an enemy.
Resolved an issue where lingering phantoms of other players failed to appear in Limveld, disrupting environmental storytelling and PvP awareness.
Additional developers and support staff have now been added to the credits roll to honor their contributions to Nightreign’s ongoing development.
Online functionality will only be available after this patch is installed. Once the update is downloaded, a full restart of the game is required to activate the latest files. This is essential for summoning allies, engaging in PvP, and accessing the game's full network features.
FromSoftware has confirmed that further updates for Elden Ring: Nightreign are in active development. Future patches will continue to address balance concerns, PvP fairness, and new content support. As the mystery of the Nightlords deepens and the Eclipsed Realms expand, players can expect more changes and surprises lurking just beyond the next fog gate.
