Ubisoft has announced Y10S1 Designer's Notes, in which it talked about the approach to balancing, rank distribution statistics, and changes that await players in the upcoming season. This stage was a kind of preparation for the new era of Siege, where the developers decided to give the game more stability before further changes.
Why won't there be any big changes in the balance this season?
Ubisoft noted that before large-scale updates, the team wants to stabilize the game and collect as much data as possible. They emphasized that each new patch adds “entropy”, making the analysis of the impact of changes more difficult. Therefore, it was decided to spend more time assessing the current state of the game before implementing significant changes.
In particular, the developers explained their goal of balancing between attacking and defending sides. They noted that defenders have a natural advantage due to the ability to adapt to each round. The optimal level of balance is considered to be 55% of victories for the defense with a tolerance of 5%.
Ubisoft also explained that every change of characters affects the entire goal of the game. If one operator gets a buff, other characters in his role become less attractive. The same applies to nerfs - weakening one operator automatically increases the popularity of others.
How do developers analyze the game balance?
Ubisoft uses various data matrices to understand how changes affect the game. They take into account the statistics of individual maps, rank levels, platforms (PC or console), and even individual game modes.
However, the developers noted that statistics are only part of the analysis. They actively monitor player feedback through social networks, polls, and communities. In addition, Ubisoft holds internal workshops with experienced players to better understand the game's balance.
The developers assured that players have an impact on the future of the game and encouraged them to continue to leave their feedback on official platforms.

Statistics on the distribution of ranks in Y9S4
Ubisoft has published the rank distribution for the latest season of Y9S4 for PC and consoles. The main conclusions:
- The most popular rank is Gold (from Gold IV to Gold I), which covers a significant portion of players.
- Diamond and Champion were obtained by less than 1% of players, confirming the high difficulty of reaching the top rank levels.
- The console version of the game has a higher concentration of players in the lower ranks, while the PC version has more players in Platinum and above.
Ubisoft plans to continue to monitor the distribution of ranks and analyze how players adapt to the new method of matchmaking.

What's next? Y10S1 - the preparation period
Ubisoft has named Y10S1 “ Operation Prep Phase”, which means preparation for future updates. The developers have decided to make this season more stable, and all the big changes will take place later this year.
It is expected that major changes in the balance, new operators, and map updates will be announced in the upcoming updates. Ubisoft emphasized that the new era of Siege will start from a more stable base and they want to implement changes gradually, analyzing the impact of each update.
