One of the Reddit users, LoveForNuWa, has officially filed a complaint with the European Commission against Riot Games. The reason for the complaint is dissatisfaction with the quality of the premium skin Spirit Blossom Morgana Exalted, which is sold for €250. According to the player, the product does not meet the stated standards, contains bugs, unfinished effects, and differs from other Exalted skins, despite Riot's promises regarding the quality of such cosmetic items.

The author of the complaint explained that they approached the EC not to create a scandal, but as a long-time customer of the company, concerned about its unwillingness to adhere to its own standards. "Companies operating in the EU are required to comply with consumer protection directives and laws. If a product does not meet the stated characteristics, it's a matter for regulators," the user noted.

The European Commission forwarded the complaint to the European Consumer Centre in Austria, where it received official consideration. The player provided evidence: screenshots of correspondence with Riot, comparisons with other Exalted skins, videos of bugs and unfinished features, as well as feedback from other Reddit users who complained about the same product.

In August, the applicant received confirmation that the matter is being taken seriously and could have significant legal consequences for Riot Games. Among the possible outcomes are forcing the company to make changes to the product or other legal actions in the realm of digital consumer rights protection.

Despite the official complaint, the player emphasizes that their goal is not financial compensation, but a desire for Riot to fix Spirit Blossom Morgana, bringing the skin to a level that matches the Exalted status.

The situation has already sparked active discussion within the League of Legends community. If the case gains further publicity, it could set a precedent for the entire gaming industry in the EU regarding the quality of digital goods and developers' responsibility to players.
