Micro Patch 15.1b: How Did It Impact LoL?
Micro Patch 15.1b: How Did It Impact LoL?

Update 15.1b, which Riot Games introduced for League of Legends, has already caught the attention of players with its changes. After two days of analyzing stats, the Lead Game Designer shared ranked statistics, highlighting key points and plans for the future.

The micropatch did not cause a significant increase in "snowballing" in the game, as players initially feared. Here are some key indicators:

  • Winrate after first blood: remained virtually unchanged — 57.6% before the patch versus 57.5% after.
  • Game duration: the average time decreased from 30.2 minutes to 29.6 minutes.
  • Winrate after destroying the first tower: slightly increased from 70.4% to 70.8%.
  • Success rate of "Feats of Strength" and "Baron Nashor": remains high, with "Feats" contributing 74.1% and Baron 82.6%.

Despite the relative stability of the numbers, player perception varies greatly. Many feel that early advantages have become more decisive due to the high visibility of bounties.

Developers have confirmed that elements such as early "homeguards," increased experience gain radius, and reduced gold for first blood are working to minimize snowballing. However, the influence of the Feats system remains a topic of discussion.

Future

Riot Games acknowledges that first blood creates too many issues and stress in the game. Changes to its mechanics are promised to be implemented in patches 15.2 or 15.3. Despite this, the team urges players not to give up prematurely: even after a significant opponent advantage, there is always a chance for a comeback.

The full preview of the next patch, 15.2, is planned to be published by the developers tomorrow, so players can look forward to new changes that will make the gaming experience more comfortable.
