BOOM Esports Founder’s Comments
After the defeat, the head and founder of the organization, Gary "Natshuba" Ongko, commented on the match on his official social media. He stated that the team had all the chances to win, and the match should have ended 3-1. But something went wrong, and as a result, his team lost, which made him cry for the first time in 8 years in esports. Despite this, Natshuba thanked all the players for making it to the grand final and representing the BOOM Esports flag.
I cried for the first time in 8 years of esports. You know, I love you guys, and I'm so proud of you. No one gave us a chance, not even for 1 map. In fact, we probably should have won 3-1 if not for the tie. Thank you for representing us.
Why is the event so important?
Those unfamiliar with the Tier-2 Valorant scene may wonder why this event is so significant and emotional. The point is, winning any Ascension tournament in one of the four competitive regions gives the team not only a cash prize and recognition but also a slot in the VCT partnership league for the next year. This allows the team to participate in international events with large prize pools, gain public recognition, and increase their fan base. This is why the reaction after losing and finishing second is so sad, with the club's founder unable to hold back his tears.
