Only a few days remain before the start of Masters Bangkok 2025, and some may come across this material after February 20, when the tournament has already begun. However, it will still be useful as we will rank the participants in our personal tier list:S-tier – the team that, in our opinion, has the highest chances of winning.C-tier – the team that is most likely to be eliminated first.

The first Masters of 2025 will feature only 8 teams, just like last year. They qualified through the Kickoff tournament held in each competitive region: CN, Americas, EMEA, and Pacific. The two best teams that reached the grand final secured a spot in the tournament. Here is the full list of participants for Masters Bangkok 2025:

S-Tier: The tournament's main favorite
In our opinion, only one team deserves to be in the S-tier and be considered the main favorite of Masters Bangkok 2025 – G2 Esports. The team demonstrated complete dominance in one of the most competitive regions – Americas, defeating Sentinels twice and remaining undefeated.
This season, there has been a significant boost in confidence and firepower after the signing of Jawgemo – a duelist who lifted the Champions trophy with Evil Geniuses in 2023. As a result, he, along with two G2 players, made it into the top ten at VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff and ranked fourth in open frags.
A-Tier: Strong contenders
Team Vitality
The main force of European Valorant in this tournament. Vitality shows excellent communication and composure. Thanks to a successful transfer window, the team signed one of the best duelists – Derke, who justified the investment by ranking first among all players in VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff. Additionally, former world champion Less joined the team, helping Vitality rise from an average team to the top of the European scene.
We expect them to win their first match against T1 and at least reach the playoffs.
EDward Gaming (EDG)
The Chinese giant that proved its competitiveness by winning Champions 2024. EDG could have been placed in the S-tier, but their poor performances in offseason tournaments and instability during VCT 2025: CN Kickoff raise concerns. The final factor in downgrading them from S-tier to A-tier was their disastrous performance in the VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 1, where they finished among the lowest-ranked teams.
B-Tier: Dark horses
Sentinels
An American team that has always been in the spotlight due to its strong media presence and star players. After 2024, several key players left the team, and it was expected that this would weaken their competitiveness. However, the departure of TenZ and Sacy did not significantly impact Sentinels. The team signed two young players – bang and N4RRATE. They have yet to fully unlock their potential in their first tournament with Sentinels, but despite this, they managed to secure second place and qualify for VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff.
DRX
The best representative of the Pacific region. DRX consistently placed in the top four of regional tournaments but struggled to make the decisive leap to Masters, which they last attended in 2023. However, this season has been different – the team not only qualified for Masters Bangkok 2025 but also won VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff. DRX has a strong chance of finishing in the tournament’s top three.
C-Tier: Need to prove their strength
T1
A Korean team steadily working towards its goals. For T1, this will be their second international tournament in the last two seasons. This was largely possible due to a successful transfer window, during which they signed Meteor, a former Gen.G Esports player who dominated the Pacific region in 2024, as well as BuZz, who played for DRX, T1’s main regional rival. The team faces a tough first match against Team Vitality.
Trace Esports
A Chinese team that has no prior experience competing in international tournaments. Masters Bangkok 2025 will be the first tournament of this level in the team's history. Before this, Trace Esports participated only once in Champions 2024. The Chinese region is considered one of the weakest, so expectations for Trace Esports are low, especially given that their first match will be against G2 Esports.
Team Liquid
Liquid is a team that showed character in the lower bracket of VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff, demonstrating incredible gameplay at the last moment. They defeated Team Heretics in the lower bracket final with a 3-0 score and even led 2-0 in the grand final against Team Vitality but ultimately lost their advantage and fell short. We believe it will be difficult for them to replicate that performance, especially when competing against the world’s best teams. Therefore, reaching the playoffs of Masters Bangkok 2025 would already be a great achievement for Team Liquid.
Masters Bangkok 2025 will take place from February 20 to March 2. Eight teams, two from each region, will compete for the grand prize of $250,000 awarded to the first-place team. The total prize pool is $500,000 and includes 11 points, which will play a key role at the end of the season in determining slots for Champions 2025.
