One of the two Masters 2025 tournaments has concluded, and its grand final became one of the most thrilling in Valorant's international history. T1, despite most analysts and fans favoring G2 Esports, proved their strength, even after a rough start in the tournament.
In This Article:
Biggest Surprise
Without a doubt, T1 earns the title of "Biggest Surprise of the Tournament", as reflected in the final standings. The team, which finished second at VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, began the event with a loss to Team Vitality, followed by another defeat against EDward Gaming. However, in the playoffs, T1 mounted a stunning comeback—not only eliminating both teams they had lost to, but also winning the championship by defeating G2 Esports in the grand final.

A key contributor to T1’s success at Masters Bangkok 2025 was Meteor, who joined the team before the season began. He secured his second Masters trophy and, for the first time, was crowned MVP of a Tier-1 tournament.
Meteor's Key Stats:
- Highest headshot percentage among all players — 33.2%.
- Average damage per round — 153, equivalent to more than one kill per round.
- ACS — 231.
- First kills per round — 0.166, ranking 6th among all tournament players.

Additionally, Meteor showcased his flexibility, playing five different agents across various roles, including Duelists, Sentinels, and Controllers.
Disappointing Performances
The tournament featured eight teams, with the top two representatives from each of the four regions. The competition was fierce, meaning no team had a completely disastrous performance. However, the biggest disappointment was Sentinels.
Expectations were high, not only because Sentinels is one of the most famous Valorant organizations, but also because they finished top-2 in their region, despite losing two star players—Sacy and TenZ. The team lost both of their matches, finishing in 7th-8th place.

Their lack of synergy and insufficient tournament preparation led to this result. On paper, Sentinels seemed stronger than Team Liquid, but they ultimately lost their final match to them at Masters Bangkok 2025. We covered their post-roster-change performance in detail in a separate article.

Strong Results
Apart from the top-4 teams, another notable performance came from Team Liquid. While they won only one match out of three, it was a dominant showing, as they nearly shut out Sentinels with a 13-0 scoreline on the deciding map.

Although Sentinels are no longer a top international contender, they remain a strong team, as finishing top-2 in North America is no small feat. For Team Liquid, securing 4th-6th place at Masters Bangkok 2025 marks a solid start to the new season.
Tournament Wrap Up
Ultimately, the biggest rewards were shared between EDward Gaming, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, and T1, but T1 took home the largest share—$250,000 and 5 VCT Points, putting them closer to a direct Champions 2025 invitation.
