Indie strategy game went booming after adding Ukrainian localization

The strategic indie game "Songs of Silence" by Chimera Entertainment has gained significant popularity among Ukrainian gamers following the announcement of Ukrainian localization. The developers also made the game more accessible to the Ukrainian region by reducing the price in solidarity and support for Ukraine.

"Songs of Silence" is a turn-based city-building game where players manage kingdoms, fight for lands against enemies, and explore new territories. According to the developers, it's not just a game about a magical world but also a story of war as a human tragedy.

The studio's staff drew parallels between one of the key principles of their game and the war in Ukraine being waged by russia. Therefore, they decided that adding the Ukrainian language would not only be a pleasant addition for the Ukrainian gaming community but also a tribute of honor. However, it is currently unknown which translation community worked on the localization.

Today's spirit of the times for Ukraine is the struggle for identity, freedom, and its own voice. Therefore, we believe that adding the Ukrainian language will not only make the game more accessible, but also pay tribute to the current realities and your fight.

Additionally, the developers set a regional price for Ukraine, making the game available for 365 UAH (a little less than $9). This made the game more affordable for many players, resulting in a surge of Ukrainian gamers purchasing the game as a way to thank the studio for the Ukrainian language and their overall support for Ukraine in its fight against russian aggression. Ukrainians also expressed their gratitude in comments under posts on Twitter.

"Songs of Silence" was released on June 4, 2024, and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series S/X.
