The first international tournament from third-party organizers, the Esports World Cup 2025 Valorant, started today and has already shown many interesting confrontations. On the first day, eight opening matches were played in each group, and we will tell you about their results below.

Group A results

Paper Rex vs BiliBili Gaming

In the first match, the reigning Masters Toronto champions Paper Rex faced BiliBili Gaming, and the match turned out to be quite tense. Despite the Chinese club's advantage in the first half, the match ended up going into extra rounds, and Paper Rex won with a score of 16:14.

G2 Esports vs Karmine Corp

In the second match, the favorites of the American region, G2 Esports, faced off against the underdogs, Karmine Corp. The result surprised the audience, as KC defeated the favorites 13:6 and advanced to the next round.

As a result of the matches, Paper Rex and Karmine Corp earned their first victories in the tournament and advanced to the winners' round, where they will face each other today in the battle for the playoffs. BiliBili Gaming and G2 Esports are in the losers' round, where they will also play each other for the right to remain in the tournament.

Group B results

Sentinels vs BBL Esports

In Group B, the first match was between Sentinels and BBL Esports, and once again, it did not end in regulation time. In a tense battle, the teams went into overtime, where BBL finally prevailed over their opponents and won 14-12.

DRX vs XLG Esports

In the second match, DRX faced XLG Esports, and it was not a tense one at all. The Pacific favorites easily defeated the Chinese newcomers and advanced to the winners' round with a score of 13:6.

As a result of the matches, BBL Esports and DRX advance to the winners' round, where they will compete for a spot in the playoffs, while Sentinels and G2 Esports are sent to the losers' bracket, where they will also compete tomorrow.

Group C results

NRG vs Team Heretics

The opening match of Group C was between Team Heretics and NRG. Once again, the underdogs defeated the favorites. NRG defeated the previously strongest EMEA team 13:4 with little resistance and advanced to the next stage.

Rex Regum Qeon vs Titan Esports Club

The second match of Group C showed viewers a battle between Rex Regum Qeon and Titan Esports Club. TEC are the underdogs in the tournament, and in this match they predictably lost 6:13.

After the opening matches, Rex Regum Qeon and NRG advance to the winners' round, where they will play each other today at 18:15 CET. TEC and Team Heretics will compete tomorrow for a slot in the decisive round.

Group D results

100 Thieves vs Fnatic

The first match of the last group showed us a clash between 100 Thieves and Fnatic. Although the battle was very intense, Fnatic still won with a score of 13:11 and secured a slot in the winners' round.

Gen.G Esports vs EDward Gaming

In the last of the opening matches, world champions EDward Gaming faced Gen.G Esports. Despite EDward being the reigning world champions, the team failed to defend their title, and Gen.G won easily with a score of 13:4.

As a result of the two clashes, Gen.G Esports and Fnatic advance to the winners' round, where they will face each other for the first slot in the playoffs. EDward Gaming and 100  Thieves will play tomorrow for a chance to continue their journey in the tournament.

The Valorant Esports World Cup 2025 is taking place from July 8 to 13 in LAN format in Riyadh. Sixteen teams from the VCT partner program are competing for a large prize pool of $1,250,000. You can follow the tournament and the results of all matches at the link.
