Two big changed on the professional stage – Paper Rex signs Monyet from Global Esports while the latter acquire blaZek1ng

Today, renowned esports journalist Bo Hoogland shared some interesting insights with his audience on Twitter. According to him, the Singaporean club Paper Rex is signing the current member of Global Esports - Monyet. As a replacement, the Indian team is inviting blaZek1ng from the inactive roster of BOOM Esports.

The situation in Paper Rex is fairly predictable, as it was recently revealed that the team will spend the next season without Jinggg, who must complete a year of mandatory military service, as required by Singaporean law. Read more about this in our material. It should be noted that Paper Rex had a fantastic season, winning the VCT 2023: Pacific League regional stage and coming third at Masters Tokyo 2023. The team was a step away from winning the World Championship but ultimately finished in second place, losing to Evil Geniuses. It is expected that after such a season, the organization plans to maintain its status as favorites, and Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha will help them in this. During his career, the Indonesian player has won many victories and has been named MVP in two tournaments. Although 2023 was not the most successful year for the player and the team, together with the finalists of the world championship, Monyet can fully unfold, especially on his favorite characters - Astra and Omen.

The replacement in Global Esports was also expected, as the team lost a key player and now needs to find a replacement. We would like to note separately that today we wrote about the fact that the CEO of the Indian organization announced the opening of a job competition for a list of positions, as GE plans to expand. Read more about this in our material. The new team member is rumored to be Gary "blaZek1ng" Dastin from the inactive BOOM Esports roster. Throughout his Valorant career from July 2020 to the present day, the player has stayed with BOOM, constantly switching between the main roster and the bench. Thanks to him, the team secured a 3-4 place in this year's VCT 2023: Ascension Pacific, but did not reach any prize places.

We want to emphasize separately that so far this information has not been officially confirmed by any player or team. So most likely, the organizations have just reached verbal agreements but have not yet signed contracts. Monyet, in turn, responded to the insiders' statements and published the phrase "nice bait" on his Twitter account. It is unknown what this means; he might be denying the information about his transition or just keeping the intrigue alive. In any case, we will find out the official information in the future, so continue to follow our portal to stay informed about all the transfers.
