The rumors were true: Paper Rex conducted a player exchange with Global Esports

During the transfer window on the professional Valorant scene, two high-profile substitutions took place. Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha from Global Esports is moving to Paper Rex, while the latter are giving their inactive player, Benedict "Benkai" Tan, to the Indian organization. Both teams confirmed this information on their social media.

Let's recall that rumors about these transfers have been circulating for a while. Not long ago, we wrote that Monyet would move to Paper Rex, while his organization would buy blaZek1ng. Read more about this in our article. It turned out that the insiders were slightly mistaken in choosing Global Esports and instead of blaZek1ng, the team signed the inactive member of Paper Rex - Benkai. He will become the first player in the completely renewed lineup of the Indian organization because over the past week, all the players have left the team.

Paper Rex had also been long looking for a replacement for the main player Jinggg, who will miss the next VCT season due to service in the armed forces. Although choosing a newcomer can be considered somewhat strange, considering that now, during the transfer window, many tier-1 players will be free, the Singapore organization settled on Monyet. The latter does not have much experience competing with the highest league professionals since he spent most of his career on the tier-2 and tier-3 scene. Although in the current season Cahya and the team participated in major tournaments, such as VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo and the regular season of VCT 2023: Pacific League, both performances ended with disappointing results.
