Riot Games Released Patch Notes for Upcoming Update 10.01
Riot Games Released Patch Notes for Upcoming Update 10.01

Two weeks after the release of the first major patch of 2025, version 10.0, the game developers have gathered enough feedback to address necessary fixes. Tomorrow, patch 10.01 will be released, and Riot Games has published patch notes detailing the changes it will bring to Valorant.

General Changes

Rank Shields Added to Competitive Mode!

  • When you are at rank level 1 (e.g., Silver 1, Gold 1, Platinum 1) for all ranks except Radiant, you will receive two rank shields.
  • If you lose a game at 0 RR, one shield is consumed, leaving you with one shield.
  • Upon losing another game at 0 RR, the second shield is consumed, leaving you with no shields.
  • Losing three games at 0 RR will result in a rank demotion (e.g., from Gold 1 to Silver 3).
  • Other rank levels do not have shields (e.g., losing at 0 RR in Gold 2 does not provide shields).
  • You only replenish two shields for a rank level when promoted or demoted to level 1.
  • Winning at 0 RR and returning to 10 RR does not restore your shields.

The most significant addition is the introduction of a system that protects players from instant rank demotions. Players have long requested this system, and Riot Games has finally delivered.

Bug Fixes

Agents

Tejo

  • Fixed an issue where players leaving and re-entering Tejo's “Armageddon” explosion zone were not marked as relocated in the battle report.
  • Fixed a problem where Tejo's “Guided Salvo” projectile would get stuck in a wall when thrown on a path blocked by Sage's barrier orb.
  • Resolved an issue where Tejo’s “Stealth Drone” could see enemy player outlines at certain distances due to its near-vision functionality.
  • Fixed a bug where the smoke VFX from Tejo's “Guided Salvo” could penetrate thin walls and structures.
  • Addressed an issue where Tejo’s “Stealth Drone” slowed down outside Sage’s “Slow Orb” area of effect.
  • Fixed a bug where the visual representation of Tejo’s “Guided Salvo” missile appeared cylindrical instead of spherical, leading to incorrect damage zone visualization.
  • Resolved a glitch where Tejo's “Artillery Missile” lost functionality and appeared stuck when thrown outside the map.
  • Fixed an issue where Tejo’s “Guided Salvo” inflicted damage on elevated players without displaying a warning indicator.

Maps

  • Fixed an issue where invisible collisions occasionally interfered with agent actions in one of the teleport room areas.
