Although the release of Valorant on Xbox and PS5 consoles took place a few weeks ago, Riot Games continues to maintain buzz around this event. Yesterday, it was revealed that the company had gifted three French teams with unique, stylized Xbox consoles and controllers.
The information was shared by the teams' representatives on their official social media channels. As it turns out, three teams from France Karmine Corp, Team Vitality, and Gentle Mates, all of whom hold slots in the VCT partner league recently received Xbox consoles and controllers customized in their team colors as a gift from Riot. Interestingly, Karmine Corp did not share photos of their console on social media, nor did they thank Riot, unlike the other two organizations.
Success of French Organizations
Although all three organizations are partnered with Riot Games in the VCT EMEA region league, the current competitive season has not been very successful for them. Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates did not qualify for Valorant Champions 2024, and although Team Vitality made it to the championship, the team was eliminated in the group stage, finishing in 9th-12th place.
Interestingly, so far, no other organizations from regions outside EMEA have reported receiving similar gifts. This is rather surprising, given that the console version of Valorant gained the most popularity in the Americas region. It’s possible that the aforementioned exclusive gift is intended only for the European region.
