For NaVi, the season has ended, while Fnatic continue to win - Results of the first playoff matches of EMEA Stage 2

The regular season in EMEA, like in every competitive region, is coming to an end, and only the most exciting playoff matches remain. Yesterday marked the conclusion of the first day of VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 2, which we will discuss below.

In the first match, the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere met the French Team Vitality. Both teams had nearly equal results during the regular season, making the match an interesting watch as if it were a battle between equals. After three maps Haven 8-13, Sunset 13-5, Ascent 13-7 Team Vitality earned a victory and a slot in the upper bracket semifinal. NaVi, in turn, exits the tournament in 5th-6th place, earning $10,000 in prize money. This defeat also definitively took away the Ukrainian team's chance to qualify for the world championship.

In the second match, the favorites Fnatic faced Karmine Corp. Although Fnatic had performed much better throughout the season, the match proved quite challenging for them. They lost the first map, Icebox, with a score of 7-13, eked out a hard-fought victory on the second map, Sunset, in overtime 15-13, and the last map, Lotus, ended 13-6 easily in favor of the favorites. As a result of the match, Fnatic advance to the upper bracket semifinal where they will face FUT Esports today.

VCT 2024 EMEA League Stage 2 is taking place from June 18 to July 20, 2024. Eleven partner teams are competing for three direct invitations to the VALORANT Champions 2024, as well as EMEA Points needed to qualify for the championship.
