Dplus KIA bids farewell to coach solo, with peri stepping into his role

After two productive years, Dplus KIA announced the departure of head coach Kang "solo" Keun-chul. A distinguished veteran of the FPS scene, Solo decided to embark on his coaching career with Dplus KIA in December 2021, marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.

Under solo guidance, Dplus KIA, formerly known as DWG KIA, established itself as a dominant force in its league. The team's pinnacle came in 2023, securing victories in both divisions of WCG VCL Korea and earning a coveted spot in VCT Ascension Pacific.

However, challenges intensified when Dplus KIA faced tougher competition on the international stage. The Ascension campaign ended with an early exit and a 7-8th place finish, leading to roster changes as four players left the team. Despite recent changes, Dplus KIA expressed immense gratitude to solo.

We will always cherish all the laughter, tears, and memories we created with him during our collaboration.

Jung "peri" Beom-gi, who previously collaborated with solo, will take over leadership. They have a long history of playing together on the same team. Peri, along with the recently joined coach Yoon "frizz" Ki-sik, will lead Dplus KIA in the upcoming season.

It is currently unknown which team solo will join, but his impact on Dplus KIA is undeniable. Stay tuned for information on his future plans in the near future.
