Disguised GC disbands women's team due to cheating at official Riot Games tournaments

Over the past two days, two organizations have disbanded their Valorant teams, and today there's news of another one. The American organization Disguised GC announced that it is parting ways with its women's Valorant team, citing specific reasons for the decision.

In their official Twitter account, team representatives decided to change their future plans regarding Valorant. In their message, they warmly bid farewell to the members of Disguised GC, thanking them for their achievements and time spent at the club. An important statement was also published, stating that the organization no longer feels comfortable investing large amounts of money in the women's scene.

Hello everyone! Today we are releasing our Valorant Game Changers player roster as we reassess our future in the space. After the terrible conclusion of the GC Series 3 earlier this year, where a player managed to circumvent Riot's anti-cheat system in our games, we do not feel comfortable investing further in a scene that exists today. Thank you to all the fans who watched and supported the team this year. We hope to re-enter the Game Changers space when a more sustainable environment is created.

The main reason for leaving the league was the club's defeat in the third stage of the VCT 2023 Game Changers North America qualifiers. In the first round of the upper bracket, Disguised GC faced a lesser-known stack called noot noot, which they lost to 1-2, and then fell to the lower bracket, eventually leaving the tournament. It was then revealed that one of the noot noot players had used cheats, helping the team secure several important victories. Despite Riot Games disqualifying the offenders and awarding them an automatic defeat, the Disguised GC women were not reinstated in the tournament, losing their chance to qualify for the world championship. Read more about this in our article.

In the comments to the announcement, fans are mourning the team, but fully support such a decision. They state that Riot Games should have reinstated Disguised GC in the tournament, as their defeat was a result of facing cheaters, and without the notorious noot noot, the team had a real chance to advance further.
