Riot Games announced on April 24 that they have discovered errors in Cypher's traps and the map Split in patch 8.07. Developers added that they will fix these issues soon, with the release of a new update.
One of the errors is related to Cypher's traps, where after the agent's death, his traps still appear on the minimap for allies. The second error is related to an exploit on Split.
Developers plan to fix both errors in patch 8.08. Until then, Cypher will still be available for use, but Split will be excluded from the map pool for competitive play, unrated premier matches, and Spike Rush mode.
This week, a premier league match was supposed to take place on the Split map, but instead it will be held on the Ascent map. Also, during the premier league playoffs next Sunday, Split will be excluded from the map selection process.
There have been many reports recently about issues with Cypher's traps, but there was no clarity whether it was a change in specification or an error. Now the error has been officially announced, and its fix is scheduled.@Valorant
