Crashies is exploring new offers but will stay with NRG until the end of the Offseason

The American organization NRG, like many others during the offseason, will be making changes to its Valorant roster. The first of these changes is parting ways with main roster player Austin "crashies" Roberts, who is free to explore new offers but will still represent the team in offseason events.

This decision was recently announced by the organization's representatives on their official social media channels. Interestingly, the team's management has not yet officially said goodbye to crashies, only granting him free agent status. Furthermore, he will remain with the team throughout the offseason, so if the results are satisfactory, Austin might not leave the team after all.

Crashies has been granted permission to explore his options as an unrestricted free agent. This decision allows him to consider other opportunities in the VCT. We will continue to work closely with him throughout this offseason as we develop our plans.

The Player’s Contribution to the Team’s History

Austin "crashies" Roberts is a 26-year-old American player who joined NRG in November 2022. Although he didn’t secure any major victories, he and the team achieved several podium finishes. These include: 2nd place at VCT 2023: Americas League, 4th place at VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, and 9th-12th place at last year’s World Championship. However, this season did not go as well for the player, with the team showing rather average results in their region, finishing 9th-10th at VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1 and 8th at Stage 2. As a result, they missed all major international tournaments, including Valorant Champions 2024. The team's lackluster performance was the main reason for the changes in NRG’s roster, with the first being the parting with crashies.

It’s worth noting, as we mentioned earlier, that the team has various tournaments ahead during the offseason. Therefore, there is still a small chance that the player might stay with the team if his performance excels.
