The regular competitive season in the top division of the VCT has ended, meaning we now face the off-season, which will feature many smaller tournaments with lower prize pools. The well-known American esports organization Sentinels recently announced that, as in previous years, they will host their own tournament for professional teams.
Last Year's Tournaments
The organization is famous not only for its achievements in Valorant but also for its media presence, as Sentinels remain the most popular Valorant team in America. To maintain this status, the organization works closely with the community and other professional teams, primarily through hosting their own tournaments and show matches. In 2023, the team held their own tournament, the Sentinels Invitational, with a $20,000 prize pool, which they won themselves. They also hosted two show matches: the Sentinels Off-Season $5k Bounty Showmatch and the Sentinels-Tarik Showmatch.
Announcement of a New Tournament in 2024
Most fans of the team had no doubt that the organization would also host several of their own events this year, and the first of these was recently announced. The well-known portal Valorant News stated on their Twitter account that Sentinels will host another tournament this fall. The tournament, titled “SEN CITY CLASSIC,” will take place from November 1 to 3. Tier-1 teams are welcome to apply for participation directly with the organization. Currently, there are no details on the prize pool or the number of teams that will participate, so we will have to wait for the official announcement from the American organization.
It's worth noting that Riot Games themselves will officially host more than 30 different tournaments during the off-season, and besides Sentinels, other organizations will also hold their own events. This means that the 2024 off-season will be packed with events, and if you don't want to miss any of them, stay tuned to our portal.
