Riot Games has shared details about the upcoming international Valorant event, Convergence 2023, which is a mid-season tournament initiated by Riot Games SA and The Esports Club. The event will be held at the Manpho conference center from December 14 to 17, with the exact prize pool yet to be disclosed.
Among the tournament participants are well-known teams such as Gen.G, FURIA Esports, Team Liquid, FUT Esports, Global Esports, and Team Vitality. Teams have been invited from the three main Valorant regions, and the name of the sixth and final participant in the Convergence 2023 event will be announced soon.
Sukamal Pegu, leading esports efforts in India for Riot Games, commented on the event, making several significant statements:
We are excited to collaborate with Riot Games to present our second international Valorant tournament to the gaming community in India. This event will not only enhance the esports experience in the country but also elevate India's presence on the global gaming stage.
Convergence 2023 will be the second international Valorant event held in India, following last year's VALORANT India Invitational, where five American teams competed for a prize pool of $100,000.
