Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasov has ended his professional career as a player after 20 years of competition, 5 of which were spent in VALORANT. The player announced this on his social media page on X.

ANGE1 began his VALORANT career in 2020 with the release of the game and immediately focused on building a team for tournaments, starting his journey in the PartyParrots roster. After successful performances, he attracted the interest of the Chinese organization FunPlus Phoenix, for which he played from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, Riot Games announced the creation of the franchised VCT league, where NAVI received an invitation. The Ukrainian club was determined to assemble a more competitive roster than it had at the time, so they signed almost the entire FunPlus Phoenix lineup, with ANGE1 as captain.

20 years of gaming comes to an end. After taking a small break, I understood that it takes too much focus and energy for me to compete on the highest level. I truly did my best in the last 2 years, but expectation and reality unfortunately did not meet. I still believe in my vision of the game. And there are a lot of things I learnt during this long-ass career. So let's not be sad; one journey ends, and another one begins. Starting next season, I will try myself as a coach.

ANGE1’s statement

The player emphasized that he is not leaving esports but will begin a new path — becoming a coach. There is no information yet about which club he will be joining. NAVI has not announced a contract termination or completion, but the organization currently has a well-known and respected coach — Happy.
