How to effectively trade kills with teammates?

I know trading kills is important, but I’m struggling to do it consistently. Sometimes I react too late, or my teammate dies before I can help. What’s the best way to position myself and time trades properly? Any tips to improve?

Always position yourself close enough to react but not so close that you die first. Pre-aim likely angles and be ready to fire the moment your teammate takes a fight

Trading is easy—just make sure your teammate goes in first. If they win, great! If not, at least you get a free revenge kill

Trading is easy—just be slightly behind your duelist, steal their kill when they die, and pretend it was a calculated team play

Good trades come from spacing, communication, and pre-aiming common angles. If your teammate takes a fight, you should already be prepared to react the moment they get shot

Stay close enough to react but not die with them. Pre-aim angles so you don’t waste time. Communicate—even a quick “Swinging now” helps. Use utility if possible, and don’t force trades if holding the angle is smarter

Think of trading like being the “second wave” — your job isn’t just to react, but to expect the fight. Good positioning means you’re not right on top of your teammate, but also not so far that you can’t peek within half a second.
