Teams Qualified for VCT 2025: Complete Participant List

The Valorant season has officially concluded, and we have learned the winners of Valorant Champions 2024 and the Ascension winners from four competitive regions who qualified for the VCT. This year, like the previous one, had its unexpected twists, which is why, in the end, five teams qualified for the VCT instead of four. Let's go over each of them and present the list of all participants for the next VCT season in the following regions: EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and China.

In the article, you will find:

What does winning Ascension and securing a slot in the VCT provide?

The Ascension tournament is held only once a year in each competitive Valorant region and serves as the final event in the Tier 2 competitive scene. It determines one team that rises from the Challengers league to the VCT. Organizations invest heavily in players and coaching staff to win this trophy. It makes sense because participating in the VCT can easily compensate for all previous expenses:

  • Brand promotion: Organizations gain the opportunity to compete for slots in international tournaments, and the VCT league attracts significantly more viewer attention than Challengers.
  • Additional funds: Riot Games shares part of the profits from club-themed collections (capsules with charms, banners, and skins featuring club symbols) and sales of other themed skins, such as the Valorant Champions bundle.
  • Experience: Thanks to VCT participation, clubs can learn from other top organizations in their region, improving their standing.

These are just the general advantages clubs receive, but there are also many contract aspects that are not disclosed but are valuable and help the club increase its budget and enrich its experience.

Ascension EMEA 2024 Winner

The VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 took place from August 31 to September 15. Ten of the best teams, determined throughout the season in various European Challengers leagues, competed for the main prize of the year — a slot in the VCT EMEA for 2025.

This year's winner had been chasing this trophy for two years since the team took second place at VCT Ascension EMEA 2023, losing without a chance in the grand final. But not this time. Apeks, the team that won Ascension EMEA 2024, had another unforgettable season, securing 25 victories and losing only twice throughout the entire season. In the end, they lifted the coveted trophy and became the twelfth team in VCT EMEA for 2025.

Ascension Americas 2024 Winner

From September 10 to 21, Valorant fans followed VCT Ascension Americas 2024, where six top teams from both American continents fought for $100,000 and a slot in VCT Americas 2025.

The situation with the winner is drastically different from the EMEA region because the winner was a team that was least expected to claim the championship, and for good reasons:

  • A newly formed team playing its first season in Valorant.
  • Players without experience at a high level.
  • Relatively mediocre results in the regional Challengers league.
  • A poor start in the tournament (the team reached the playoffs by securing the last slot in the group stage).

In the end, all these factors, combined with the fierce competition for one slot in the grand final, indicated that 2GAME Esports had low chances. However, this club lifted the trophy, shattering the dreams and efforts of other teams, including M80, which announced its disbandment after failing for the second consecutive year.

Ascension Pacific 2024 Winner

2G Esports' victory at VCT Ascension Americas 2024 was the most unexpected twist on the Tier 2 scene in 2024 until the VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 grand final changed everything. Sin Prisa Gaming did something in just one season that perhaps no one will be able to replicate in the near future.

Sin Prisa Gaming began the 2024 season in the lowest league — Premier, where any team with a rank above Immortal 3 can participate. On September 29, 2024, this team lifted the Ascension trophy and became the twelfth participant of the VCT Pacific league for 2025. You can learn more about their journey by reading another of our materials.

Ascension China 2024 Winner

The last team to enter the list of 48 participants for next year's VCT was XLG Esports. They claimed victory on September 21 at VCT Ascension China 2024 in the grand final against Rare Atom, which failed for the second consecutive year at the final stage. Last year, the team lost the grand final to Dragon Ranger Gaming.

Unexpected replacement of Bleed Esports with another team in VCT Pacific

The news surprised the entire Valorant community and the organizations BLEED Esports and BOOM Esports. On October 4, 2024, Riot Games decided to strip BLEED Esports of its slot in the VCT Pacific league due to "critical" breaches of obligations, which the club was informed of a few hours before the official announcement.

The new team in VCT Pacific, replacing BLEED Esports, was BOOM Esports, which finished second in VCT Ascension Pacific 2024, thus completing the list of all participants for the next competitive season.

Start of the VCT 2025 Season

The first official tournament of the Valorant Champions Tour 2025 will begin in January 2025. Riot Games will host a tournament in each region for franchise teams — VALORANT Champions Tour 2025: Kickoff, where two teams will be determined to head to VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025. Additionally, teams will earn Points for victories in matches, which will ultimately determine the team or teams that will go to Valorant Champions 2025.
