In 2023, Riot Games hosted the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo tournament instead of the traditional Masters to mark the beginning of a new era of partnerships with teams and bring together all 32 teams from the international leagues in a single event.
FNATIC were the undeniable favorites, advancing to the grand final without dropping a single map. They approached every series at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo with confidence, dominating their opponents and making it seem like no one could match their level in the tournament.
As for LOUD, even they hadn’t expected to progress as far as they did, especially after their victory at VCT Champions 2022 in September of the previous year. Their clash culminated in a narrow 3-2 victory for FNATIC.

Gen.G Esports won their second attempt at a Masters series tournament, bringing the first international trophy to the Pacific region. In the final, they faced Team Heretics, winning 3-2. Despite Gen.G Esports having a significant advantage, as Team Heretics played with a substitute, the match was filled with thrilling moments, and the suspense lasted until the final map. Notably, the second major Valorant event recorded lower viewership than its predecessor, Masters Madrid.
