Valorant Champions 2024, the main event of the competitive Valorant season, promises to be the most thrilling yet. Riot Games continues to raise the bar for esports events, and both fans and players eagerly anticipate what this year has in store.

With the season almost at its end, we look forward to the key event of the year, where the top 16 teams from around the world will compete for the championship title and a substantial prize pool. Without further ado, let's discuss what awaits us at the upcoming Valorant Champions 2024.

Event Overview

Throughout the year, teams compete in various stages of the tournament, starting with regional qualifiers – the Challengers stage. Here, teams from different parts of the world showcase their skills, aiming to secure top positions in their regions and earn a spot on the international stage.

The best then advance to the next stage – the Masters stage. These tournaments gather the leading teams from all regions, providing them with the opportunity to compete against each other on the international stage. The Masters stage is a crucial milestone on the road to Valorant Champions, as it is here that clubs have the chance to prove their capabilities on a global level.

Following this, we have Valorant Champions 2024, which will bring together the best teams from around the world to compete for the championship title. This event is the culmination of the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), which includes regional and international competitions throughout the year. Teams will go through the Challengers and Masters stages to earn their place at Champions, ensuring that only the very best participate.

Format and Structure

The tournament will be held in two stages: the group stage and the playoffs.

The group stage will take place from August 1 to August 11, 2024, and will feature four groups using a double-elimination system (GSL). Each group will have four teams, and all matches will be played in a Best of 3 format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs will be held from August 14 to August 18 and from August 23 to August 25, 2024, using a double-elimination system. All matches, except for the lower bracket final and the grand final, will be played in a Best of 3 format. The lower bracket final and the grand final will be held in a Best of 5 format.

Prize Pool

The prize pool for the 2023 championship exceeded $1 million for first place, with a total prize pool of $2.25 million. This year, Riot Games does not plan to lower the bar and has announced the same prize pool, indicating the event's stability and attractiveness in the esports community of the game.
