Snappi leaves Falcons after a year of challenges

The Saudi esports organization Falcons has officially announced the departure of their in-game leader, Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer. The decision follows a challenging 12 months for the Danish IGL, who joined Falcons in late 2023 after an outstanding year with ENCE.

2024: A year of struggles and setbacks

In his statement on social media, Snappi acknowledged the difficulties faced during his tenure with Falcons.

"2024 was a tough year in my private life, and on a professional level, it wasn't better," Snappi shared. "We didn’t play to an acceptable level, and the uncertain and chaotic roster situation made things even harder. I want to thank my colleagues and Falcons for their efforts, but sometimes it’s just not meant to be."

Despite high expectations, Falcons failed to qualify for the Shanghai Major, prompting a complete rebuild for the 2025 season. The Danish leader, along with several teammates, was benched following the disappointing results.

Future prospects: A move to Ninjas in Pyjamas?

According to sources, Snappi is now expected to join Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) as part of their rumored 2025 roster overhaul. This move could offer the veteran skipper an opportunity to revitalize his career and rebuild his reputation. NIP, who have been struggling to regain their Tier 1 status, seem to be banking on Snappi’s extensive experience and proven ability to nurture young talent.

Falcons’ plans for 2025

As part of their roster overhaul, Falcons are reportedly targeting the Heroic trio of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, René "TeSeS" Madsen, and Abdul "degster" Gasanov. The move is seen as a strategic step to secure Heroic’s coveted number eight spot in the Valve Global Standings.

Snappi’s replacement as IGL is likely to be kyxsan, who has impressed with his leadership and versatility in recent tournaments.

From ENCE success to Falcons turmoil

Snappi’s journey with Falcons began in December 2023 after a stellar run with ENCE, where he led the team to victory at IEM Dallas and secured a runner-up finish at IEM Cologne. However, his tenure with Falcons was marked by "stylistic differences" with coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen, and the team struggled to find stability.
