[Exclusive] molodoy on FalleN: "I listen [to his advice], but sometimes I don't. However, due to his experience, he simply defers to my decisions"

After an intense victory by FURIA over Falcons at IEM Cologne 2025, Danil "molodoy" Golubenko gave an exclusive interview to Bo3.gg. The sniper discussed key rounds on Mirage, his recovery through TikTok, and adapting to the new system and language environment within the team.

Molodoy also shared his thoughts on working with FalleN, hinted at plans for Overpass, and explained why stability and trust within the roster will be crucial in the fight for future victories.

Congratulations on your victory! You defeated a pretty strong opponent. How would you rate your team's performance and your opponents' performance?

I rate my team's performance today as good. We came back twice. I think this is starting to toughen us up. We can and should believe that we can come back at any moment. This game is a testament—we are not a weak team.

What was the key factor in the victory? Was it communication or team chemistry before the game?

Well, I don't know. After the first map, when we lost, I just picked up my phone, spent some time on TikTok, and reset. I realized not everything was lost, and we started playing calmly. We were losing 9:5 on Mirage and came back. The main thing is to believe and know that your team is tough, that they're not just playing randomly. That's the most important thing.

How many TikTok videos do you need to watch to reset?

I just watched one, maybe 2-3, then they called me—and I just sat in my head, thought about what and why. It got easier. It helped.

Let's talk about the game itself. You picked Train but lost. Why didn't the game plan work?

Nothing worked for me on Train. They just wouldn't let us play. I'm more of a support there, so I didn't really see the game, only saw a couple of rounds as CT and that's it. The game plan didn't work—maybe they prepared well against us.

Mirage was very intense. There were many key moments. Which one do you consider decisive?

I think at the 11:11 score, when I killed kyxsan in the smoke while he was defusing—that round was very important. And the next one too, I killed four there. You could say I won the last two rounds. Not alone, of course, but I stepped up at the right moment.

On Dust2, you just destroyed Falcons and looked extremely confident. Did you catch a positive vibe before the game? Did TikTok help again?

On Dust2, I just relaxed a bit, calmed down, changed my keyboard position—and it started working. It's a joke, of course, about the keyboard. But I think I just need stability. To get into the stability of my game—and then everything will go well.

What do you think your team should work on to win against top teams?

Firstly, it's my English. It's not developed enough yet for me to fully communicate during the game. Secondly, synergy and trust in each other. Although it's already there—it needs to be at 100%, like with Vitality, so to speak.

Have you already adapted to FURIA, or are there still some aspects you're getting used to?

I've adapted, but not 100%, because I haven't learned the language well yet.

Do you encounter issues with understanding during the game due to the language barrier?

If we talk in percentages—I probably understand 90%, 10% I might not get.

Does FalleN, the former sniper, give you advice? Do you listen to it?

Yes, I listen, but sometimes I don't because I have a different perspective. His style is more passive, mine is aggressive. Sometimes we don't agree, but due to his experience, he just defers to my decisions.

Will FURIA play Overpass? Are you preparing it at all?

We'll see. Can't say.

Give some advice for FACEIT grinders. What to do if your team has 4 teammates who don't know a single grenade on Overpass?

It's very difficult. I played on FACEIT on Overpass once—we got steamrolled. I won't play Overpass on FACEIT anymore—that's it.
