Another game day of BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 is over, with paiN, BIG and OG winning. Which allowed them to advance to the next stage quarterfinals for the first two and semifinals for the last two.
PaiN vs Cloud9
This was the first meeting between the teams for 2024 and there was no clear favorite. After all, paiN show themselves well, but also Cloud9 have recently gained good form and had 6 wins in a row.
The first map of the match was Nuke, the choice of paiN, who showed a confident game on it in the first half, ending it with a score of 8-4. In the second half they just brought the game to an end and won 13-8.
The second card was Mirage, where paiN also had a solid first half winning 6 rounds in a row on it, giving them a score of 8-4 in the first half. They continued to surprise in the second and finished the game with a score of 13-9.
BIG vs GamerLegion
The match started with a two-hour delay due to GamerLegion playing their last match at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 EU RMR Closed Qualifier A against BLEED. Where they managed to come back from 12-3 down to win 16-14, which could give an incredible boost to their match against BIG.
The first map was Mirage, just where GamerLegion came back against BLEED. This time they also showed a good game where they were able to finish the map with a score of 13-6. But on the second map they apparently ran out of power and couldn't play for offense, during which they lost 13-7.
The third map was Dust 2, where GamerLegion started off well, but got bad towards the end. They failed to take a single round for attack for the second map in a row and lost 13-6.
OG vs AMKAL
The first map of the match was Dust2, OG's choice. However, despite their choice, the game was tight and the first half ended with a score of 5-7 in favor of AMKAL. In the second half the fight continued and the game ended in extra rounds, where AMKAL were stronger, winning the map with a score of 19-17.
The second map was Vertigo, AMKAL's choice. However, OG completely dominated this map, leaving their opponent no chance. The first half ended 12-0 in favor of OG, and in the second half they confidently brought the game to victory, ending the match with a score of 13-0.
The third map was Inferno, where OG again showed their superiority, winning the first half 9-3. They continued to dictate their terms in the second half and ended the map with a 13-6 victory.
Next match
PaiN will play against FaZe in the quarterfinals, OG will play the winner of this pairing to advance to the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024. And BIG will play Virtus Pro in the quarterfinals today, while the teams that lost their matches left the tournament.
