New offseason tournament announced in Valorant: SOOP VALORANT LEAGUE

The Valorant offseason is a time of major changes on the professional scene and smaller local tournaments, where teams prepare for the new competitive season. Recently, it was announced that another event is scheduled for late November 2024, which we’ll detail below.

All about the SOOP VALORANT LEAGUE

The event, titled SOOP VALORANT LEAGUE, will take place from December 10 to 15 in Seoul at the Sangam Afreeca Colosseum in a LAN format. The tournament is organized by IT company SOOP, formerly known as AfreecaTV, which has also hosted various events during the Valorant offseason.

Eight teams will participate in the event: six received direct invitations through their partnership with SOOP or as representatives of other regions, while two teams secured their spots through the Thailand and Vietnam Qualifiers. The lineup of participants is as follows:

The tournament format is divided into two stages: group and playoffs. During the group stage, all teams will be split into two groups of four, competing in a Double-Elimination format, with matches played in a best-of-three series. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, where they will face each other in a Single-Elimination bracket. All matches will be best-of-three, with the grand final being a best-of-five.

The tournament prize pool will be $80,000, distributed as follows: $25,000 for 1st place, $15,000 for 2nd place, $10,000 for 3rd place, and $5,000 for each team finishing in 5th-6th and 7th-8th place.
