Riot Games have unveiled the details of the upcoming patch 25.S1.2 for League of Legends, focusing on reworking Atakhan, Domination runes, ADC items, and several other elements. The changes made are aimed at balancing the meta and improving player interaction with the new additions.
Atakhan: more frequency, less power
Developers noted that Voracious Atakhan appears in less than 15% of games, making it too rare. In this patch, it will appear more frequently, but its impact will be reduced to balance its effect on the game.
Additionally, Riot Games address player complaints about it being "too powerful." However, the team wants to give players time to learn countermeasures, such as object trading and waiting. A nerf for Bloody Roses is also expected since they do not significantly add depth to the gameplay.
Changes in Domination Runes
Players using runes from the Domination branch felt a decrease in power due to changes in minor runes. This patch will provide a buff to this branch, but not fully, to encourage players to explore other options such as Sorcery or First Strike.
Some champions, like Blue Kayn and Evelynn, particularly suffered from the changes, so they will receive individual buffs.
Improvement of ADC items and tank balance
Amidst discussions about tank strength, Riot Games plan to make ADCs more effective against them. Specifically, Yun Tal and Lord Dominic’s Regards items will be improved for a clearer role in taking down tanks. This will help distinguish this build compared to items like Collector, which focus on damage to vulnerable targets.
Adjustments for Tahm Kench and Cassiopeia
Tahm Kench continues to show high performance with a win rate above 50%, making him an unwelcome opponent. He will be slightly nerfed in the patch.
Cassiopeia, who does not use Feats due to the lack of legs, received a preliminary buff that turned out to be too strong. This patch will reduce that buff to align with the actual rewards of Feats.
Swiftplay: adjustment of Atakhan and mechanics
In Swiftplay mode, Voracious Atakhan appears more often than in the classic mode, so its frequency will be reduced. Riot Games will also remove the influence of champion gold rewards from catch-up mechanics to eliminate negative impacts on this type of reward.
