Respawn has officially launched the Breakout Reloaded midseason update for Apex Legends, bringing major Legend reworks, weapon balance adjustments, the return of the Lockdown LTM, and a wide range of quality-of-life improvements. The patch went live on June 22, 2025, and it's already reshaping the current meta.
The biggest spotlight falls on Wattson, who now has significantly more impactful fences. They slow down enemies mid-jump or slide, cancel Ash’s dash and Sparrow’s double jump, and can even electrify doors—shocking enemies who try to open or kick them. Her Ultimate now charges faster, and the fence node HP has been doubled.
Vantage received key mobility buffs via a snappier Echo Relocation and reworked Sniper’s Mark. The laser is now hidden until the first shot and better represents aim direction. She also gets several new Level 2 and 3 upgrades, making her more team-oriented and lethal.
Ash has a reduced dash cooldown (8 seconds) and new upgrades like healing on knock. Some previously overpowered perks have been shifted to later tiers.
Other Legends like Alter, Ballistic, Conduit, and Mirage received more focused balance tweaks—ranging from reduced damage output to fixed ability interactions.
The new Gold Weapon Rotation includes: Spitfire, R-301, R-99, Flatline, and Akimbo Mozambiques.
Several weapons were tuned for mid-to-late game balance:
Hop-ups have also been adjusted. Gun Shield Generator now works with R-301. Accelerators were removed from Devotion, Mastiff, Bocek, and Sentinel, and added to Havoc, Flatline, and Mozambique.
Fan-favorite Lockdown mode returns for a limited time across Olympus and Storm Point. Players will once again capture and hold zones to earn rewards.
Starting June 24, a new limited-time mode “Arenas: Duels” launches. From June 24 to July 15, Duels will feature no abilities—pure 1v1 fights with matched weapons and Legends. On July 15, the second phase enables abilities for more tactical depth. Maps include Encore, Habitat, and Party Crasher.
The Mixtape playlist also rotates in maps like Fragment, Skull Town, Caustic Lab, and Lava Siphon for TDM, Control, and Gun Run.
Ranked now displays squad-based tier info based on the highest-ranked player in the squad. Matchmaking is adjusted accordingly to ensure fair play among premades and solo queues alike.
Players who completed the Ladder Champion Challenge in Split 1 will receive a special Dive Trail usable throughout Split 2. To keep it, players must complete the challenge again in this split.
This patch brings extensive QoL improvements:
Breakout Reloaded isn’t just a minor patch—it’s a sweeping midseason rework that resets the pace of Apex Legends. With Wattson and Vantage becoming stronger contenders, a 1v1 Duel mode in the spotlight, and Lockdown returning, this update injects fresh life into Season 25.
