As of June 10, 2025 — just two weeks after launch — Dune: Awakening has officially sold over 1 million copies, making it Funcom’s fastest-selling title to date. The game surpassed the milestone much faster than Conan Exiles, which needed a full year to reach the same number.
At its peak on Steam, Dune: Awakening reached 189,333 concurrent players — three times the highest peak of Conan Exiles.
Even before the full release, during the early access period from June 2 to June 8, the game had already sold over 274,000 copies, generating more than $11 million in revenue for the studio.
Immediately after launch, Dune: Awakening secured a place among the top three games on Steam — both in terms of sales volume and active player count.
Alongside the sales announcement, Funcom released an infographic with in-game statistics:
These numbers highlight the game's strong player engagement and widespread popularity.
Players and reviewers have enjoyed the title for its visual quality, immersive Dune world, and correctly implemented survival system. Created on Unreal Engine 5, the title is a co-production of Funcom and development studio NUKKLEAR.
Dune: Awakening presents an alternate vision of the world — Paul Atreides never existed, and you are a Bene Gesserit agent sent on a mission to find lost Fremen in the midst of a civil war on Arrakis.
The release was staged: early access began on June 5 for Deluxe and Ultimate edition owners, while the full launch took place on June 10. Prior to that, beta weekends were held — and even extended due to community demand.
The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2026. Developers are also planning ongoing content updates, balance improvements, and overall quality enhancements.
