The official reveal of the second large patch of Monster Hunter Wilds was to be on the Capcom Spotlight stream on June 27. Sony leaked news of the patch prematurely on the PlayStation website much earlier, though, releasing significant details on what the patch would entail. The patch was to launch on June 30 and would include a whole slew of monsters, a collection of challenges, and some cosmetics.
The Monster Hunter Wilds update is slated for release on June 30, 2025. While Capcom has not yet made an official statement, this date is considered final and will be confirmed during the presentation.
Lagiacrus — the iconic electric monster first introduced in Monster Hunter Tri — will return to the game. Its model and behavior have been adapted to fit the Wilds combat system, featuring improved animations and new attacks.
In addition to Lagiacrus, the update will also bring back another popular monster. While its name has not been officially confirmed, the community is actively speculating about the return of Seregios — a spiked, aggressive creature that hasn’t been seen in the series for some time.
Players can also expect a new limited-time event featuring the Arch-Tempered version of Uth Duna. This powerful variant of a familiar foe will be available for a short period and will pose a significant challenge. Victories will reward players with γ-class armor and other valuable loot.
The update will finally introduce the Layered Weapons system, allowing players to change the appearance of their weapons without affecting their stats. Additionally, new costumes, a Doshaguma mask, new gestures, and paid DLC cosmetic packs will be available.
All official details about the update will be presented at Capcom Spotlight on June 26. Capcom is expected to unveil the full content lineup, gameplay changes, and possibly future plans for the game.
The second update for Monster Hunter Wilds launches on June 30. Players can look forward to the return of beloved monsters, a challenging event, new weapon customization features, and refreshed cosmetics. A full presentation of all changes is coming soon.
