The American organization 100 Thieves has made minimal changes to their Valorant roster since the beginning of 2024, leading fans to speculate that adjustments might be planned for the offseason. However, it was recently announced that head coach Anthony "Zikz" Gray has extended his contract until 2027, confirming that he will be one of the key figures remaining with the team.
Fans' expectations
It’s worth noting that 100 Thieves finished the last VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2 tournament in 4th place. This result did not allow the team to qualify for the current world championship, meaning their run in this VCT season has come to an end. Due to this, fans anticipated significant changes in the coaching staff, especially after the recent departure of assistant coach Mikes, as we reported a few days ago. However, with the head coach's contract now extended, it seems any further changes will likely occur within the player roster.
Zikz’s journey with 100 Thieves
Anthony "Zikz" Gray is a 30-year-old American coach who previously served as an assistant with the reigning world champions Evil Geniuses. At the end of 2023, he joined 100 Thieves as the head coach, replacing Mikes, as mentioned earlier. Since his arrival, Anthony has led the team to victory in the VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1 and secured 4th place at the VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai. Despite the team not qualifying for the world championship, their overall performance throughout the season was quite commendable, likely the main reason Zikz will continue in his role.
As of now, it remains unclear what other changes might occur within the 100 Thieves roster, if any. Fans will have to wait for the conclusion of the current Valorant Champions 2024 and the start of the offseason to learn what lineup the team will field in future events.
