Simone "simoz" Giovannini, the current coach of DNSTY, may become the head coach of MKOI — a team competing in the franchised VCT EMEA league. This has been reported by the media.

Following MKOI’s performance at VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1, where the team failed to advance from the Omega group, finishing fifth out of six teams and securing only one win in five matches, rumors began circulating online about potential changes to the player roster and coaching staff. We wrote about this in more detail in this article.

Now, SheepEsports, a media outlet that has previouslyreported rumors of changes to the MKOI roaster, claims that according to their sources, MKOI and simoz have reached a verbal agreement regarding his appointment as head coach ahead of VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 2. If confirmed, this will be simoz’s first experience at the tier-2 level, as he has previously only coached teams at the Challengers level or lower.

In addition to simoz, MKOI’s management also considered other candidates: Peter "Spin" Bradford, head coach of VIT.Revolution, as well as a coaching duo — MKOI Academy head coach Kirian "Yaba" Martínez and Manuel "thinkii" Martínez, head coach of UCAM Esports.

Currently, MKOI has made no official statements regarding the departure of the current coaching staff or the signing of a new coach. However, if the rumors are confirmed, an official announcement could come very soon.
