The playoff stage of VCT 2025: China Stage 1 is coming to an end, and there are only a few matches left. Today, we found out the first team that made it to the grand finals, as well as who left the tournament.

Wolves Esports vs XLG Esports

In the first match, we were expecting a clash between Wolves Esports and XLG Esports in the top bracket final. Although both teams reached the finals, their levels differed significantly. This became clear immediately after XLG Esports easily defeated their opponents on two maps. The team won their choice of Pearl with a score of 13:7, and on the opponent's map, they went to additional rounds and won with a score of 14:12.

EDward Gaming vs BiliBili Gaming

The second match of the lower bracket featured a battle between the current favorites EDward Gaming and their strong rivals BiliBili Gaming, and the elimination match turned out to be really interesting. On the first map, Fracture, the world champions unexpectedly won the match with a score of 13:8. But on the second map, Icebox, BiliBili surprised them and won with the same score of 13:8. The outcome of the match was determined on Pearl, and it turned out to be quite tense. Initially, BiliBili held the advantage, but after ten rounds, EDward started a comeback, but it was not successful. Thanks to this, BiliBili gaming won the third map with a score of 13:11.

As a result of the matches, XLG Esports advanced to the grand finals of the qualifiers, guaranteeing themselves a place not only at Masters Toronto 2025, but also at the new Esports World Cup 2025. Wolves Esports, in turn, fall to the lower bracket, where they will meet BiliBili Gaming tomorrow. EDward Gaming finally leaves the tournament in 4th place without earning any prizes.

VCT 2025: China Stage 1 takes place from March 13 to May 4 in LAN format at VCT CN Arena in Shanghai. Twelve VCT China affiliate teams will compete for 3 invitations to Masters Toronto, as well as China Points, which are necessary to qualify for the upcoming World Championship.
