"This wasn't supposed to happen" - Leviatan follows their Argentine colleagues in leaving the Americas Kickoff

The start of competitions on the professional scene always brings a mix of positive and negative emotions to viewers, and today it became known about the disappointment for fans of the Argentine Valorant scene. The team Leviatan, which was considered one of the main favorites before the start of the tournament, left the competition tonight.

The main reason why the club was considered one of the strongest in the current competitions is the roster changes before the season started. Unexpectedly, one of the strongest duelists in the world, Erick "aspas" Santos, who became the world champion in 2022, joined the main lineup. Despite this, the team lost the last two of three matches played, resulting in their departure from the tournament. Team representatives apologized to fans and stated that "this wasn't supposed to happen."

The team started their performance in the tournament in Group B. In the first match, they met the team 100Thieves, and earned their first victory with a score of 2-1. But the second match was a crucial confrontation with LOUD, which the club lost with a score of 1-2. The elimination match took place last night, and as a result, the well-known American team Sentinels knocked out Leviatan with a score of 2-1. As a result, they left the tournament in 7th-9th place.

It is worth noting that VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff is taking place from February 16 to March 3, 2024. Eleven of the strongest partner teams are competing for two invitations to the first Masters of this year, as well as 3 Americas Points, which are necessary for qualification to the World Championship.
