The American stage of the VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff, although starting sooner than other regions, finishes the latest, on February 3. Despite this, the main outsiders of the tournament have already been determined, one of which is the Argentine team KRU Esports, whose players left the event without winning any match.
It's worth noting that such a result is quite predictable, considering the last season. Before the tournament began, the team was not considered one of the favorites for several reasons. Firstly, at the end of last year, KRU Esports said goodbye to two key players, inviting less experienced professionals to replace them. Also, the club's performance in the formed lineup left much to be desired, and with the newcomers, it fell even more. The team representatives apologized to the fans and assured that they would perform better in the future.
The Argentine team started their performance at the tournament in Group C, where they lost to G2 Esports in their first match with a score of 1-2. Their second match took place in an elimination match, again against G2 Esports. But despite the experience from the first encounter, the team once again lost to their opponents with a crushing score of 0-2, after which they left the tournament in 7-9th place.
Remember, the VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff is taking place from February 16 to March 3, 2024. The 11 strongest partner teams are fighting for two invitations to the first Masters of this year, as well as 3 Americas Points, which are necessary for qualifying for the World Championship.
