"They are the weakest among all regions" - Boostio still doesn't believe in Chinese Valorant teams
The reigning world champion and captain of 100Thieves, Kelden "Boostio" Pupello, known for his provocative statements towards the Chinese Valorant region, is again the talk of the community. Before the start of Masters Shanghai, he expressed skepticism about the level of play of Chinese teams and questioned their performance at the tournament.
The news portal VALO2ASIA published an excerpt from an interview with Boostio before the second major tournament of 2024. In it, the professional reiterated his assertion from last year that teams from the Chinese region are the weakest on the international stage. Kelden stated that at Masters Shanghai, the Chinese clubs would not pass the Swiss system and, as a result, would not achieve good outcomes.
🇺🇸 100T Boostio: “I think the Chinese teams are still definitely the weakest teams out of all the regions, like not even close.

Probably none will make it out of the Swiss stage, and then EDG will be the only team left [...]”

Note that this is not the first time Boostio has expressed skepticism about the Chinese region. Almost a year ago, when China officially joined the three competitive regions of Valorant, Kelden assured viewers that the region would be the weakest among all, and that Chinese teams would never be better than those from North America. Masters Shanghai starts today, and for the Chinese teams, it will be a home tournament where they will receive the most support. Follow whether Kelden's statements about the Chinese teams will be justified on our website, where detailed information about each match at the event is available.
