The organizers AfreecaTV VALORANT LEAGUE disclosed information about the formation of groups and the schedule for the group stage matches, which will kick off on December 5th. The two top teams from the group stage will advance to the playoff stage, where the tournament winners, who will receive the main prize of $80,000, will be determined after a short series of battles.
Starting from December 5th at 10:00 Eastern European Time, the first matches will begin. In the opening match, Paper Rex and Sentinels will face off for the first time in a competitive arena, with their participants Mouhamed "johnqt" Ouarid and Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha making their debut. Then, at 13:00 in Group A, a new encounter will unfold between FULL SENSE and DRX. They last met at the VALORANT Champions 2021 tournament in Berlin, where both games ended with a score of 13-5 in favor of the Korean team.
On the following day, December 6th, the battle moves to Group B. Team Liquid will kick off their tournament performance against Fancy United Esports, the team with the lowest rating after the qualification in Vietnam. Then, at 15:00, EDward Gaming will clash with T1 in the fight for leadership in the group. All eyes will be on the debutants of the teams, Kevin "xccurate" Susanto and Daniel "Rossy" Abedrabbo.
The AfreecaTV Valorant League is one of the largest offseason events in 2023. The tournament will take place in Seoul, South Korea, and will last for five days. Eight teams will compete for the cup and a prize pool of $80,000.
